Over 5.2 million more to go to hit their goal over over 18 million this FY

Considering how stock has been flooding into various markets as of late and their recent Live on PS5 marketing campaign to notify people of available stock, I think they'll easily hit that 5.2+ figure in the last quarter.

Plus if the rumors are true of them doing 12 million of the current model in the first half of the new FY, and then ~18 million of the new model in the last half of the new FY, then that must mean they're on a serious ramp-up in production.

4.9M actually.

They are aiming for 37M+ i think.

They had originally projected 18 million units this FY and last quarter they had stated they were increasing their projection, but I don't believe they stated by how much. 18 minus the cumulation of the last 3 quarters is 5.2 million left to hit the 18 million figure, and they're aiming somewhere over that.

I don't get it. I'm talking about console units and you've posted a screenshot of inventory in terms of billions of Yen.

Guess the people have bought didn't hear about lyin Jin Ryan trying to corrupt regulators. When they do, PS5 sales will drop off a cliff

Gonna be over 50M by the end of this year.

If Tom Hendersons rumors are true and they really are aiming for 30.5 million next FY, then by the end of March 2024 they'd be in the region of 67.8 million total. That's also assuming they ship another 5.2 million in Q4 this FY to hit their goal.

Remember folks, Bloomberg said Sony is making up for PS5 shortage in 2022 by producing more PS4s.

We now know for a fact this was pure utter nonsense.

Congratulations, Playstation 5. It's nice to see a company thriving by doing what they do best. May your first party games remain hits and your Call of Duties simply remain on the platform.

I've edited since but the idea that numbers were boosted due to the pandemic and would decrease now.

Ahh, yeah that's a stupid argument for anyone to make, lol.

PS5's gonna hit massive numbers going forward, I can't wait to see it play out, and for them to reveal their next wave of first party titles to go along with it.

The new TLOU casuls will help them reach their target :messenger_beaming:

Beasted it, no doubt about it. This is what can be achieved with little to no competition and a massive release in the holidays.

GG Sony you are killing it!

Yes, and Bloomberg also said Sony decreased their PSV2 plans but Sony's forecast remains unchanged. In fact, Sony now plans to get more Operating Income than in their previous estimate.

Not really. The pandemic correction is well known outside gaming too. Even Sony is affected to some degree as their PS Plus subs and software units sold are down.

Oh, I was referring to hardware numbers, to be honest. Hardware numbers were massively impacted by the pandemic and component shortages.

But yeah, for software and services, I could see a discussion of some sort having merit there.
