Meh, I'm still skeptical of overly positive early impressions.

1. Those top two reactions are from a free screening they were invited to. Not sure how that compares to a surprise screening at a convention people paid a lot of money to be at.
2. Ben Mekler's impressions are fake as a joke, he does that whenever a movie is getting reactions again in hopes that his fake impression gets added to a clickbait story collecting Tweets. They're all fake.

Don't really care about reactions, but I'm glad there's positivity surrounding the movie in general. Even the most cynical of fans and movie lovers seem to be excited for Afterlife.

Because Harold Ramis is dead and the surviving cast is pushing 70. It's either have Egon live on through his grandchildren who meet the original Ghostbusters or do a complete remake like the dogshit 2016 movie.

There's nothing wrong with starting fresh. The fly, the thing, the blob, those are all remakes with no link to the original films, but they understood the essence of the original films and they were all fantastic. The first Ghostbusters movie is not a children's movie, can children watch it enjoy it ?, yes but it is not aimed at children.This movie seems more akin to The Goonies, there's nothing wrong with wanting to make a movie like that, but it's a waste of the Ghostbusters license. I'm going to watch this movie, I watched the last one, but I know it's going to suck.

The Rise of Skywalker was probably the best out of the Star Wars franchise. The only thing I didn't like about it is Rose.. what a horribly bland character.

I'm sure the new Ghostbusters movie will easily be as good as Rose of Skywalker.

That's pretty much it. When it comes to YouTube film critics the one thing they want is access as it will give them views. So if they don't feed into the whole marketing hype machine and be a shill for the film, then access is taken away and you end up throwing a hissy fit on your podcast:

I'm taking any positivity around this movie, right now, with a grain of salt. It's meaningless.

If there's anything not sitting well with you right now about this movie, then odds are it will continue to not sit well with you as you watch the film.

That's just how it's going to be. Hopefully we get a good story and the original crew are there long enough to help carry and support the plot. The less we see of the originals, the worse this movie will be. Why? Because it's a bunch of kids who are basically going to fill in for the original crew.

Frankly, I don't even understand their selections for the kids. Hope it works out. The original crew had great chemistry. I loved the whole ghost exterminator concept with a bunch of guys who were nerdy as hell but ultimately were glorified exterminators.
