So, is it worth the upgrade for me now (Z2 user) or should I wait for the Z6? Battery of my Z2 is kinda fucked and holding the charging cable in a weird angle is the only way to actually charge it. When is the Z6 expected and what makes it possibly different? Or should I just get a Z5.

never heard this before sony UI is known to be smooth very close to andoid stock and better than touch wiz

my previous was z2 and there's no much diffenrence between z2 and z5 but still a nice upgrade.

Well, i couldn't get the Xperia Z5 because my carrier didn't offer it sadly. I got an iPhone 6S and while the phone is good, i miss my Xperia Z1 so much more. It's way faster and snappier than the iPhone. Has a better camera and is on top waterproof. And this is the Z1 so i imagine the Z5 is much better. After my contract ends, i'm definitely going back to Android and the Xperia line, it's more of my kind of experience and i think that overall it's better than the iPhone.

I imported Z5 compact from amazon for around 520$ (international version)
Am very much in love with it couldn't wait for it to be released in my country very slick and beautiful
Function-wise: snappy fast and simple
Battery is 2700 mA so it lasts me a day and a half

my friend has a iphone5s and the camera is horrible compared to z1c, the pics just look washed out far too often whereas sony camera tend to have much better contrasts and colours that just pop more.

IIRC, Best Buy is one of the places. No carriers though. And even if that didn't mean I'm out (it does), the US version is launching without the fingerprint scanner, which means I'm absolutely out.

It's not that they're clueless, they just honestly don't care. They know that if they don't put in the advertising money, they're going to go nowhere. So the whole point of this release is to milk money out of the diehard customers who haven't already imported, and if that's the goal you're going to price it as high as possible.

As far as I've experienced so far it holds up very well to the iPhone 6s, in all but one condition: front facing camera at low light, which ... is quite bad.

So yea, If you take a lot of late night seflies you're gonna be annoyed.

Love my Z3, despite it being the Z3v model (still waiting on a OS update, still stuck on 4.4.4, damn you Verizon). I will get this in July when I am due for an upgrade as long its not the Z5v model.

X is priced same as Z5... they will probbaly have larger versions as well.

I am not sure why would anyone thinking they are not chasing high end anymore, it seems that they will chase almost only high end in the future. Phones like E4 will not be made anymore.

It looks highly likely that the Z series is gone. We now have the X series leading the way. Oddly enough, Sony doesn't appear to want to state the X series is a flagship line, at least from what I've read.

We will probably have to wait until IFA to see how things unfold since that will be the 1 year anniversary of the Z5's announcement, and it had been long rumored that they would switch to a yearly release cycle instead of the 6 month cycle they were doing.

Unfortunately their sales number is shrinking, if they can manage to improve the sales number, things are looking good for their mobile division. As far as the z lineup go, x pretty much carry all the design language as the z line up beside the metal backing. Only wish it was still using 5.2" screen for tge xp though. But now people can stop complaining about the cracking problem due to glasses on both sides.

I would have a tough time recommending the US version with the non working Fingerprint reader even at $400.

Pretty much the main reason I don't regret importing mine months ago.

Got the 6.0 update for my Z5C last week (they are rolling it out in waves). Carrier-locked are supposed to take longer.

So last time, the headphone jack stopped working on my Z5P. I contacted Sony but they said they support gray market purchases.

I contacted Clove and they said I can ship them the phone, they can forward it to Sony repair center and ship it back to me...

Ehh, never again importing a phone from another country.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Wanted the Z5 Compact but it's only available on the most expensive network in Aussie ($75pm) Next choice is the Z5 but it's more expensive ($65) than the Premium ($60) and the Premium is too large for my lifestyle. I know it's only $5 more but over 2yrs that's equivalent to 2 more monthly payments really. I really don't want to grey import an unlocked phone.

WHY? They were incredible. What now? Xperia X? Is the Xperia X even comparable in spec? Is that the flagship? If not, what is?

My day is utterly ruined. I only buy the Z range... until now I guess.

XP is waterproof, but it'll cost you $100 more although you get upgraded to SD820 which is flawless on 1080p screen.

Still got my trusty Z2 and I waited for the X but apart from the nice bright screen, I've quickly lost interest in it after seeing they dropped Waterproof + 4k video and also the price seems high for a mid range phone.

My contract is up now, so will be getting the Z5 instead.

I just ordered new cover flap for charger and sim porn since the rubber broke, z2 is still serving me fine, I want to upgrade it but waiting for S7 edge to drop 50 more eur which should be in month or two but I'm still not super hyped for it like I was when I was getting Z2 :/

Only days after posting above about my displeasure of exclusive carrier prices I saw that my preferred phone, the Z5 Compact, was dropped by $15 per month on a 24 month plan. That's a saving of $360! Phone ordered, now waiting for it to arrive.
