Sony's E3 2014 - What are we all expecting?

when ps3 showed up, i was hyped for new beasts like Africa, Fatal Inertia, Interstellar Marines. I felt for God of War 3...

Now is a strange time : the possibilities are endless but it's also the dark age of sequels.

I just don't want to hear about uncharted, god of war, gran turismo, metal gear, etc. Enough for me. Only sequel i'd like would be Motostorm pacific rift 2, 1080p@60fps + proper AA.

I want exciting new Ips that make me buy a ps4. I know it's a good machine but no game pushed me to a store until now to grab one (and additionnaly, until it can stream my movies correctly from my NAS, it cannot pretend to replace the old ps3).

I expect from sony some new grounds, like heavy rain, or revisting some old ground that i miss such as proper shoot them up ala raystorm, einhander or 2d platformer. In fact i miss some good hand drawn 2D. I may go 90% indies in the end this gen finally.

Much prefer if we stopped with all the remasters. Bored of these rehashes getting top billing.

Thankfully both companies only have two franchise IPs worth remastering. GoW and Halo/UC.

I won't miss the day I stop hearing 'Remaster/Anniversary/HD/Definitive Edition' from these companies.

I am honestly expecting The Last Guardian. I just watched the four minute trailer for the first time in years and there was no way that game was EVER going to run on a ps3. Not in the way they presented it.

That game is not dead and it will release on PS4 and I firmly believe it will be at e3. Also, bold prediction, the guardian will die and we will all cry...

To be honest I'm tempering my expectations for Sony since it has been a long time since they've impressed me with an E3 conference. That said, I really would like to get a PS4, the hardware seems great, I'm just not convinced by their game lineup yet so I hope they do put on a good show.

What I expect:
- Montage!
- Traditional 10 minute boring introductory spiel
- Demo for The Order
- New drive club trailer
- Last of Us HD trailer
- Guerilla RPG announced
- 3rd party demos (yawn): AC Unity, Destiny, something from EA
- Morpheus segment, tech demos and maybe few indie titles
- Project Beast
- Close on a teaser for Uncharted.

Would be nice to also see some of these:
- No Man's Sky, possibly as a VR showcase
- New game from thatgamecompany
- New game from Rockstar (probably wishful thinking but they don't have anything announce for 2015 yet so you never know)
- The Witness
- Rime
- Media Molecule game
- Lengthy in game trailer for uncharted or even a demo
- I almost want to punch myself in the face for saying this but
the last guardian
- A surprise! Something I couldn't guess

I only have one request really: Let Adam Boyes do the talking! The guy is charismatic, able to keep a leveled head, has a sense of humor and understands gamers. He is the one Sony, give him his moment in the spotlight.

I think we'll see a good deal of new IPs at E3 from Sony. The Order and DriveClub will be there for sure, we know at least MM, QD, and GG are working on new IPs, and, even though we've known about it for a long time, TLG is technically a new IP if it shows up.

Agree on Boyes, yosp...need subtitles for some,
don't forget Cerny too, let him show some future features on firmware update like pause/resume.

I still don't understand what Yosp said about new IPs last E3 and I've seen the conference like 20 times.

He, Boyes and House are awesome though.

The new guy's gonna give a keynote or something, talking about the future prospects of the division. Its his first E3 and the industry's gotta at least see him speak.

I do hope the reason Sony is so quiet these days is because they're saving for megatons everywhere.

I think yosp is getting better lol. My first time hearing yosp is during ign podcast some time ago and I can't understand what he's saying. I can understand him now with just a little difficulty.

30+ WWS* PS4 games in development.
20 of them slated for year one. (Nov 13->Dec14) ( probably untrue at this point, stealth delays, etc)
Of the above mentioned 20, 12 are new IPs.

*includes internal studios as well as games that credit support studios/incubation support like SSM, XDev, Foster City, and Japan Studio support. Basically any game that's published by Sony.

No no I got all that, but this sentence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DmoZAPDV3ew#t=3961

"We are now in the industry something something"

I usually understand what he's saying as his English is very good, but I guess that sentence confused me.

Is there a convenient list of the WWS games released so far and those known to come? So far the output seems to be pretty underwhelming.

"We are known in the industry to accelerate/aggressively ??? (pronounced with a pa-) new IPs..."

Damn, that is pretty hard to listen.

Honestly, maybe because I'm not a PC player these things excite me more than other people but, I'm interested in seeing Planet Side 2, H1Z1, and Ever quest 2

MMO's basically
That's the one thing I notice right off the bat that we have now and the other side does not, it helps greatly when passing the time between big releases. I think it's unfair how they are usually ignored when people talk about Sony having 'no games'

Project Morpheus info and probably gameplay.
PS4 8.5-9 Million sales announcement

Final Fantasy XV footage and release date

Thanks. Eliminating the ports leaves 15 games, not bad I guess. I'm hoping the quality is there going forward because at the moment only Infamous and Resogun really stand out.

Only robots care about facts. You can't tabulate the immense passion that I've seen from Microsoft and Phil Spencer in particular.

Someone posts Demonite's chart pronto.

Gamers are a PR guys wet dream. It must have taken the MS marketing guys all of 2 minutes to come up with "just say we're all about games".

~ 4 weeks later and MS are redeemed because Spencer is a yes man on Twitter and they announced a Halo game not due for 18 months.

Weren't they published by Sony?

But they doesn't mean that they count. I don't know why some people find it so hard to believe that Sony is actually working on new games for PS4. The ports helped fill gaps and have people that didn't own a ps3 the chance to play some great psn titles. There are plenty of new games coming people

Remember when that guy from Sony Pictures came out last year, talked for 10-15 minutes, and then didn't really announce shit?

Hated that. The partnership had potential, but that's all it was. Potential. Just ten minutes of PR jargon without anything substantial. Hopefully Layden learned from mistakes at previous E3s. Even if you guys do have a TV show to announce for PS4, don't do it at E3. Keep the focus on games.

Unless of course you're announcing a 6th season of Community. Then that can be at E3.

I just want to see some exclusives other than those we know about. Excited to see The Order 1886, Uncharted and The Last of US remaster, but I want to see something no one knows about.

Guys if they show The Last Guardian,do you think they will show it at the beginning of the conference or save it for the end? I think they will surprise everyone showing at the end...!!

It'll be at the end because it'd be hard to find something else that would cause as big of an impact among the people that actually care about E3.

If they make another God of War I really hope it's significantly different.
Different setting, characters, weapons and moves. Keep the gore and hyper violence but don't just rehash the same thing again.

sales talk first of all, that has to be said first,
if you are the #1 selling next gen console at the moment then they are gonna let us know

then ps3 final numbers and then maybe vita projections for sales

hopefully less then 5-10 minutes

then a 3rd party showcase, something like "best possible experience only on ps4" , batman will be shown , destiny , etc

then a trailer for the order then the last of us then more HD remasters for the season

I can see a early uncharted demo being played then hopefully others games releasing this year

cmon hot shots golf PS4 B^)

People who keep saying arrogant Sony is back forget the huge reshuffle the whole division has taken since then.

Ken is gone, Phil Harrison is gone, Kaz went from vice president of Sony's corporate executive group to head of Playstation to the top of Sony.

Shuhei Yoshida became the lovable scamp we all love. He created on openness on Twitter and shows he is listening to us.

Andrew House was Chief Marketing Officer of Sony Corporation then CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and now President and Group CEO of SCEI.

Then there are the new people who have joined since.

I dunno what I expect, but I have a gut feeling They'll lose a bit of the momentum. I've been really impressed with MS in the past couple months, they are very clearly hungry as fuck to claw their way to the top. I just hope Sony doesn't get tooooo comfortable
