Sony's E3 2014 - What are we all expecting?

I don't know what to expect from Sony at all. It really seems like Uncharted is too early in to show and I'm not expecting too many new indie games at Sony's conference.

I'd be cool with more Destiny though lol.

PS5 news obviously.

I'd really like to see an AAA game with offline multiplayer though :( Anything that I can play with my friends on a couch.

Here is what Sony should NOT show at it's E3 conference:

1) Destiny
2) Assassin's Creed Unity
3) CoD: AW

These games will be shown at the Activision, Ubisoft and EA conferences, respectively, and there is no need to waste valuable Sony conference time with them.

Activision doesn't have a conference.

Real talk: Have there any been any rumblings or rumors about a PS3 price drop coming at E3 or soon-ish? I'm just about ready to open up, dust out, and retire my backwards compatible 80GB model since it's vacuum cleaner loud (and serves as a mini space heater at this point), but I have a huge back catalog I need to get to. I'd love to get a Super Slim to replace it, but $269.99 is a bit steep. If it was $199 I'd bite.

We'll see Destiny and ACU because they are big titles for the PS4 and Sony isn't just going to have a conference full games published by them and smaller third party for various reasons.

I'm expecting a packed presser.

Numbers. Because Sony loves numbers.
I'm expecting Beast's Souls.
Token Vita coverage.
We'll find out what those other IPs Sony registered are.
New trailer/demo for The Order, possibly Driveclub as well.
A couple other smaller games(possibly an update on Rime or Shadow of the Beast).
Indie showing, similar to what they had last year where they show several quickly.
3rd party stuff, including at least one big reveal. Few 3rd party showings will be exclusive, but they are getting marketing deals or something along those lines.
Close with Uncharted.

That would probably fill 90 minutes. I'm not sure they have time for much else. Not expecting anything with Morpheus yet.

Man, where to begin :)!

PS3/PS4/Vita:
TONS of great indie games on stage (Witness, Oddworld Abe's Odyssey HD, and tons more being shown off
New bundles for each platform (a 200$ PS3 with no hard drive but having a 1TB Hard Drive with a year of PS+, PS4 getting a bundle with Vita 2000 for 500$, Vita 2000's many other colors coming state side in themed bundles with games ala God of War Collection + PSP games with Red Vita, ect)
Three New Cross Buy games announced: Sly 5, Ratchet and Clank Movie Tie-In, and CRASH BANDICOOT Remastered all between this fall (Crash and Sly) to Early Spring Next Year (Ratchet)

PS4:
Last Gardan (this has to be here...its been way to long at this point :l)
Demo of the Order + Fall Release date
New Trailer for Uncharted 4 with a fall 2015 release date
New Trailer for DriveClub + Demo (with this demo being put on PSN during E3, considering the games long delays :)) with a late summer release date
On Stage Demo of FFXV with more info on the game (Square isn't stupid enough to give a release date...they will delay the game for five more years at this pace XD)
Montage of all the Indie games that have landed on PS4 with showing off more to come
Showing off new IP from MM, Guriall Games, Sumo Digital, and Sony Japan
Showing off Beast Souls (that 'leaked' game) and a surprise 3rd party exclusive
Close the show with a Demo of KH's 3 with Sora using a light-saber fighting stormtroopers (common, a SW's world is a given at this point :)) alongside a montage of some of the worlds that will appear in the game (hopefully Frozen, Tangled, Jungle Book, Huntchback, and Fantasia 2000)

PS Vita:
Show off currently announced games
Show off demo + trailer for Gravity Rush 2 with a fall release date
On-Stage demos of SSD, Over My Dead Body 2, and Freedom Wars with a NA/EU release date
Announce more ports of Collections (Ico Collection, Ratchet Collection) + ports of PS3 games (Ratchet Nexus, MotorStrom, Demons Souls, ect)
A new IP from MM or a sequel to Tearaway
Sequel to Killzone Mercenary coming this fall (or an expansion pack of sorts)
Price Drop for Memory Cards + 64GB Card coming stateside for 60 bucks
Announce from E3 onward that all PS1 and PSP content on PSN WORKS on Vita

That sounds realistic, well to me at least :).

1886 extended gameplay
The Last Guardian re-reveal
#DRIVECLUB Gameplay
Project Beast reveal
Project Morpheus consumer model reveal and price.
Reveal of flagship game for project morpheus made by Media Molecule
Uncharted 4 Gameplay

I'm hoping for an unexpected reveal.

Opens up with an awesome montage as always.
Immediately cuts to gameplay. Maybe Order 1886 or Destiny.
House does the opening with how well the PS4 is doing plain and simple. Some statistics are spun around to make the Vita look good. Something something about PS3 and it's 10 year plan. House is the main host but overall pretty divided as isn't absolutely clear who should host it. Some reel in there with only new PS3 games with Persona, Tales, etc. in it but that's it for PS3.
Yoshida is given the stage to talk about WWS. The Order: 1886, Driveclub, Bends new game (Killer Strain?), TLG (we can hope), Gravity Rush 2 for the Vita people, and Project Beast. Maybe not as much Uncharted 4 as we'd hope because it might conflict with The Order. Probably at least one game with Sony funding a third party dev. Ninja Theory? More ports for Vita. Ico and stuff. Maybe even Dark Cloud.
Shawn Layden is given the stage and fully introduces himself. Talks about PSN/SEN improvements, new PS4 and Vita OS, a lot more info on PS Now. Some media stuff. Ratchet and Clank movie trailer which leads to reveal of new game made by someone other than Insomniac. I have no clue however. Maybe something on the Heavenly Sword movie since they haven't said anything about it and it launched FUCKING NEXT MONTH. They have other game movies in the works too right? Stuff on that.
Marks gets on stage. More details on Morpheus. Price and Release date? Reel of developers saying it is awesome. Games by Media Molecule, SCE London and Zindagi for it. Bunch of indie devs that are supporting it. More stuff from third parties such as Valkyrie. Maybe the new Deus Ex since they got Thief working on it and it's similar development teams. Just a random shot in the dark.
Hands it off to Boyes. Some more indie stuff but not as long as last year. Final Fantasy XV trailer with release date X/V/XV. More Destiny. Assassins Creed. Probably more third parties this time around since Sony is doing so well. I can see Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, or Just Cause 3 being revealed here. Arkham Knight footage and Maybe Injustice 2 as well. Resident Evil 7 and Deep Down localization announcement. And some out of nowhere surprise. Agent?
House closes it off.
More epic montages.
Fin

Plus some random surprise that no one expects at all somewhere in there. Maybe a one more thing moment?
Something like that.

Definite:
-Uncharted
-Driveclub
-The Order 1886
-FFXV or KH3
-Destiny

Less Likely:
-The Last Guardian
-God of War reboot
-Parrapa Vita
-Arc the lad

Pipe Dream
-Crash Bandicoot
-Medievil reboot
-Pretty much any lost PS1/PS2 franchise reboot

-3rd Party games Sony has partnerships with

-Morpheus

-Couple of trailers for new IPs

-Indie segment like last year

-The Last Guardian re-reveal trailer

-Close it with Project Beast

I don't think Valve is interested in consoles anymore. They make enough money with Steam and their steam related products

If they want to make a push into the hardware and OS market they will want all the money they can get their hands on. No company has "enough money".

I usually expect too much but:

Sony:
Last Guardian
Shenmue 3 (Been hinted its "closer than ever" to being revealed, why not now? )
MGS5
Entwined (I think this is Media Molecules game)
Kill Strain
Bloodborne
Project Beast (Could be Bloodborne or Killstrain, who knows)
One of FFXV or KH3.
VR stuff

Microsoft
Sunset Overdrive
Resident evil 7
Halo
Gears of War
Call of Duty

I don't expect anything... I hope for:

PS2 and PSX emulation show in native 1080p, showing physical and digital rereleases with fancy 1080p box art. Looking at you FFXII.

Everquest Next

Guilty Gear, Tekken

At least one JRPH outside of Squares

Sales numbers
Antonio Banderas
Wonderbook-tier nonsense reveal
Uncharted 4 teaser
Playstation Now info/date/pricing/available titles, etc

Guaranteed: The Order, Uncharted, 1 new IP from Bend, MM, London, or Guerrilla, Project Beast, some new incubated indies, rebooted old IPs (Parappa, MediEvil, Patapon, Ape Escape, Wild ARMs, and Dark Cloud are most likely, methinks)

Likely: The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, Sly 5, Ratchet and Clank, Beyond Two Souls PS4, 1 new IP from Bend, MM, London, or Guerrilla

Plausible: Crash, 3 new IPs from Bend, MM, London, or Guerrilla

Unlikely: 4 new IPs from Bend, MM, London, and Guerrilla, serious Vita love, Jak 4, Jumping Flash! as a Morpheus game.

I think the SSM IP was slated for this year's E3. Since that's gone, either they'll have one less major announcement or they'll bump something else forward. I think Project Beast was supposed to be a megaton, but the leaked happened. I still think it'll be announced in official capacity.

I think the only other major new 1st party IP that will be announced will be from Guerilla Games. But we'll finally get The Order and Uncharted gameplay.

I don't think TGS is place for megatons and the same goes for the VGAs if they aren't televised.

So what means is that it's either GamesCom, or on Sony's own schedule (which they have done before) for their rest of their likely announcements (Media Molecule, QD, Bend).

1st/2nd Party Stuff
-Deep Down
-The Order: 1886
-Uncharted 4
-Project Beast official reveal
-2 out of 3 between Guerrilla, MediaMolecule, and SCE Bend.

Then some indie and 3rd party stuff.

I'm not expecting anything from Sony other than a new Uncharted 4 trailer and a FFXV trailer. However, I do expect to see Fallout 4 (with a Winter 2014 release) and Left 4 Dead 3 during E3, though maybe not at Sony's conference.

I wouldn't mind Unity if it were the gameplay reveal. Same goes for Arkham.

This year all companies are going "all in" , they need to show what's next on this new consoles.
With that in mind, I expect a lot of surprises from sony and E3 in general.
E3 2014 ... I can already feel it! HYPE!
#believe

Games. Something which seems to have slipped a lot of peoples minds. Especially when you get certain threads and some calling out Sony for their "dry" lineup. I don't have the care to re-look them up but I've read them plenty of times. Sony has their act together when it comes to games more than MSFT or Nintendo. Games will be be in abundance and we have already had even more games announced on what seems like a daily basis.

  • Project Beast
  • AGENT reemerges
  • Uncharted 4 gameplay reveal
  • Shadow of the Beast gameplay reveal
  • The Last Guardian
  • Medievil
  • RIME
  • Indies galore! Finally some that haven't graced Steam ages ago.
  • HBO Go release date on PS4
  • GTAV Next-gen timed exclusivity for PS4
  • PlayStation Now pricing (will be disappointing)
I expect perhaps three of the aforementioned to happen. Wishful thinking on my part. I really have to stop doing this every year as it makes the actual reveals lackluster by comparison.

I am expecting VR wonder book and will be disappointed if it is not there....I am honestly wondering though If they are going to do a Morpheus presentation, how they will do it without it being awkward.

I hate to say it but I'm not expecting much from them. E3 has never been their strong point. Last year was only memorable because of the way they went after MS, but strip that away and you have a pretty mediocre conference. Sure, we'll get some new announcements but nothing earth shattering.

tlg
order 1886
uncharted 4 trailer
destiny stuff
ffxiv trailer, hopefully with release date
deep down

oh and indies

To answer the thread, Greatness. I was told it awaits.

Other then that, I'd like to see some more Definitive Edition HD Remasters in full 1080p and locked 60 fps, last gen ports.

Preferably:
Demon's Souls
God of War 3
Uncharted Collection.
Skyrim with all dlc
Mass Effect trilogy with all dlc
Bio shock Infinite with all dlc
Red Dead Redemption
GTA V
The Witcher 2
Gran Turismo 6

Crazy out of left field predictions
-Sony created JRPG not Souls related
-The Last Guardian announced along with new game in Ico franchise
-AAA PS1 reboot
-Big exclusive with SEGA

-conference should start with a look at not-so-recently released hardware. talk about ps3 and its upcoming games (of which there are still a few notables, including persona 5, but i'm not sure how far along some things are). also talk about ps vita and its upcoming games and exclusives like oreshika, gravity rush 2, freedom wars, danganronpa 2, and maybe one western title. all of this should be covered in the first 10-15 minutes.

-some talk about ffxv and kh3. i don't think a lot of time will be spent on either unless the trailers are way more robust and if one is much closer to release than we realize (i'm guessing late 2015 and first half 2017 respectively).

-the order, driveclub, and uncharted all given serious presence.

-talk about indie games and what they're doing to promote indies on the playstation

-also go into detail about playstation now. this is when they will introduce vita tv for western markets, and use it to primarily push the service (so when they advertise playstation now, there's a $100 entry version), and it is the last big push for vita in general out in the west.

-exclusive reveals with third-party developers, be it temporary or not. talk about destiny, project beast, and whatever else is in the works.

-the last guardian is the final trailer at the show. it's now a playstation 4 game, and should be out in 2015.

-project morpheus is the final reveal of the show, with a new name and some software. the last guardian is now being made with this device in mind (although it doesn't require it). it's still at least a year from being released (probably late 2015).

Alundra remake
Omega Boost 2
Demons Souls 2
Ghost Hunter or Primal next gen
Jak & Daxter
Siren
Zone of Enders 3
Ghosts N Goblins next gen
