What are your expectations for the next Mass Effect game?

Absolute rock bottom.

Bioware hasn't knocked it out the park since Mass Effect 2, and that was 15 years ago. It's been all downhill from there.

Well Bioware certainly has their work cut out after the debacle that was Andromeda....if Bioware REALLY took care of the franchise they could have quite easily have released a Mass Effect movie...(depending if the right producer/director team was chosen...)

Hopefully they have learned their lessons from Andromeda, I can't see it being better than the original trilogy....but....there is a lot riding on it....if it flops....well then just look at Dead Space and Guardians of the Galaxy for your answer as to what will happen...

Combat will be fun, characters and story will be a shadow of what it once was. 7/10 at best, but more likely BioWare gets closed down before that.

What's sad is GotG was a decent and competent game. It actually had a lot of classic Mass Effect vibes between the characters. It was just attached to a publisher who overinflates all of their sales expectations (Square-Enix), dooming everything not a mega-success to be a 'failure', and it came around at the same time people were beginning to have "capeshit" fatigue.

To get stuck in development hell, never coming out, and EA shutting down BioWare for good.

If Andrew Wilson wasn't such an absolute retard, he would've asked Larian to make an Ultima game by now. Swen clearly wants to make one. BioWare is beyond saving, I think. And Dragon Age as an IP is dead and would need a complete reboot. So why not use an actual cool fantasy IP that EA have already: Ultima.

Zero expectations, the studio's staff are prob mostly virtual signaling progressive gay af now and couldn't make something cool to save their lives if Veilguard is any indication. We aren't getting Miranda back.

dragon age origins is one if my favorite games and I felt had no interest in even downloading Vailguard for free, so imagine how little I give a fuck about the next Mass Effect

And the only way the franchise would be revived, is if a) the rights were sold off... b) The fans put together an unofficial project (which would never get greenlit by Square-Enix)

This game will be a straight action game with no RPG elements left except for an awkward conversation wheel that changes nothing. I'm not even sure if what's become of BioWare is even their fault. Listening to EA executives talk and you get no sense that they even know anything about gaming other than trying to chase maximum profits. I get the sense it's do it EA's way or look for another job.

And you know it will completely washed clean of any material that the 1% may find offensive and have the obligatory characters that try and teach us we are all very bad people. I wouldn't even care about any of this if they just made the game good and stopped making it their main focus.

My two cents, its doomed and may not even ever see the light of day. Two many people trying to tell Devs what we as gamers want to see so this game will have no love put into it.

My expectations are negative. I don't think BioWare is capable of creating a good Mass Effect game even if they try their best.

They will still have the "modern audience" shit all over the place. Storytelling, characters and dialogue are going to be awful. There is not a bit of greatness left in that place.

Whoever wrote that 'pulling a barve' crap should fired into the sun by EA - the money they have lost that company lol!

They fired the blue haired whale who thought Dragon Age was 'inherently queer' and directed the game didn't they? Maybe there's hope.

Expectations? None. Zero.

It's been so long since anyone that worked on the original trilogy has touched the franchise it might as well be a new IP.

If it's good, that'd be neat.

At this point i wonder if Ubisoft would be able to make a better Mass Effect game. Cuz lets be real, AssCreed Shadows is slop, but it's not even close to being as shitty as Veilguard.

I liked the previous one. For all the shortcomings in writing and character dynamics, it had pretty fun exploration and combat especially. I have no clue where Bioware is at the moment as I haven't played the last Dragon Age game. I like to keep myself optimistic and hope every upcoming game is good.

I hope it recaptures some of the feeling I had when I initially played it. I hope they don't go the Citadel DLC route to make it campy and be like, "See! All your favorite characters are back and in a goofy situation! You're enjoying it, right?! Please be enjoying it!"

I'd like a high stakes game that maybe focuses on the dark matter plot line introduced in 2 during Tali's loyalty mission. Loose end that never went anywhere.

Graphics: modern
Style: looking like a 'safe' mobile game
Content: full of dubious gay/trans nonsense masked as 'social commentary'
Gameplay mechanics: nothing innovative because they can't afford to take risks anymore

I expect it to look really good and facial animations and all that surface level stuff to be imlroved. I expect the gunplay and biopics will be snappy and fun as andromeda. I expect that the story and character writing will be borderline garbage.

Biggest irony is that Owlcat have a chance to "out-Mass Effect" the next Mass Effect game with their The Expanse game. That's at least the vibe the trailer has given me; it's Owlcat's attempt at a Mass Effect-style game.
