PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price."
EA will not be offering all the big releases like fifa and Madden on release day. That would cost them money.
Are you drunk? Some cinsumers don't alwayz make the best choices, which is why we have all konds of stupid DLC and Microtranaactions. Keeping it optional gives it a chance. Stopping it from being on the only console that's selling great prevents it completely.
Well done Sony, I'm not really a fan of having options.

I will bookmark this thread for the inevitable day when EA Access hits the PS4.
There really isn't any good reason why the option shouldn't at least be available to PS4 owners. Let the consumer decide what does and what doesn't represent 'good value' themselves.
Some people don't like subscriptions, some people don't like digital games, some people don't like year old sports games, some people don't like EA...
That was the point. You pay for live and then you pay extra for EA games. It would be consistent for Sony to turn this down and would also match with their statement.
Tin foil hat time of course. But remember EA is the company that dropped online passes, just before the always online xbox one was revealed. So maybe not tin foil hat time.
Well I can see what EA is offering game wise so far and the discounts for £20 a year.
I can see how long you can rent a game for and price as it stands and its pretty poor value tbh, much more so than what EA is offering and sony choosing to 'protect' gamers from it is laughable
Yeah, it's very naive to think otherwise.
I purchased a year access this morning with the thought that it might come to PS4 as well and expand the value for me.
Whoops. :/
I'll bookmark it for the inevitable day EA screw over everyone.![]()
Okay, then don't buy their service..?
Saying "Good on Sony for keeping this off PSN!!!" just reeks of selfishness. Maybe other people on the system would like it, so how is it good on Sony for keeping a service you don't care of away from those who do? Kind of reeks of the "why would you live there" scenario with MS to me.
Are you drunk?
This is insulting to Sony customers.
Add up the prices of the 6 ps+ games and discounts. Then add the ea vault games and discounts. Hows those goal posts?
HahaHaha, nah, I'm on mobile.
People like to simplify topics down to single lines so the masses can have an opinion without needing to know the facts, typical political strategy here.
"Sony takes away our ability to chose" Pretty simply, gets right to A point, makes it easy to decide Sony is the bad guy. Sounds like something from a political add.
The truth?
Plus: By adding this service it dissuades EA from allowing Sony to offer their games for free or discount through plus. This in turn de-values plus and hurts the service and those who pay for it.
EA wants money: It may start off all sexy and pro gamer, but EA will figure out every method to maximize their profits with it. The most direct way is to drive up subscription rates. How do they do this? Migrate features currently desired as free content to part of the service and remove them from being free. Ideas? Ultimate team advantages with subscription (extra cards, bonus points etc.), roster updates, dynamic player attributes, special uniforms for sports games, preferred online matchmaking options, map pack discounts, bonus unlock rates for game add-ons, AND maybe their sports games no longer work online after 1 year unless you have it?
There are already signs of this with the verbiage they used in the announcement, EA WILL leverage this to make the service be almost necessary to fully enjoy their games.
No thank you; I'll keep the value I pay for in Plus now, and help prevent EA from shifting existing features they should include in their games to a pay service.

Of course not. This isn't going to be PS+. But if playing Madden, Battlefield, FIFA, and Peggle and getting 10% all digital EA purchases is worth 29.99 a year, then this is good right?
No, I don't feel insulted.
There really isn't any good reason toxic real estate derivatives shouldn't be available. What harm is there in giving investors the option and letting them decide whether the economy should be in shambles?
PS Now is still in beta though....they've said multiple times the prices will change.
The EA model is really only beneficial right now to the annual madden/fifa/nhl buyer. I'll be interested to see how it evolves and if/when it catches on.
Bollocks. You force them to pay up to be able to play multiplayer.

Well I'm sure they can decide that for themselves. This is insulting to Sony customers.
The EA thing is a none issue for me as it's not something i would've paid for anyway, the sports games are not worth their full price anyway as they are just different kits & player names etc.
I think that Sony should've allowed the ES Access on the PS4 platform & let people make up their own mind, i just hope this doesn't cause some sort of spat between Sony & EA like what happened between EA & Nintendo.
To others who do want it, it is. Let's not.
People cancelling their pre-orders simply for the 10% discount it would seem.
If you signed up for both today. Why 6? for one year ps+ i get more than 50 games.
For one year EA access i get 10(probably less than 10) if im lucky.
My speculation is that Sony is concerned that PS+ will be significantly devalued if they offer EA Access.
If PS4 gets EA Access, Plus can pretty much kiss EA games goodbye from ever being on Plus discount, free games, etc.
Sadly this is correct PS+ is great if you still use your PS3. I am moving on to new generation only and PS+ has been a huge disappointment so far for the PS4. The value on the PS3 was so good I bought a couple years a head of time assuming the same value on the PS4. Maybe having the EA service on the PS4 would of gotten Sony to step up their offerings of PS+ on the PS4 beyond indy games.
This is insulting to Sony customers.
is this really going to take off? I mean, didn't Call of Duty elite burn to the ground really fast? i don't really see this taking off. it's nice to have a choice I guess, but as someone who likes Titanfall, BF4, and Fifa, I don't really see any reason to grab this.
Uh huh, they don't think it's good value , they do think it's good value to charge people to play online though, despite claiming that isn't something they'd do in the ps3 era
Of course not, but you get to play the game 5 days ahead of release to decide if you want to buy it or not (again, just like Season Ticket, a service that has been offered on PSN for years).
