Of course not. This isn't going to be PS+. But if playing Madden, Battlefield, FIFA, and Peggle and getting 10% all digital EA purchases is worth 29.99 a year, then this is good right?

There really isn't any good reason toxic real estate derivatives shouldn't be available. What harm is there in giving investors the option and letting them decide whether the economy should be in shambles?

Saying "Good on Sony for keeping this off PSN!!!" just reeks of selfishness. Maybe other people on the system would like it, so how is it good on Sony for keeping a service you don't care of away from those who do? Kind of reeks of the "why would you live there" scenario with MS to me.

The EA thing is a none issue for me as it's not something i would've paid for anyway, the sports games are not worth their full price anyway as they are just different kits & player names etc.
I think that Sony should've allowed the ES Access on the PS4 platform & let people make up their own mind, i just hope this doesn't cause some sort of spat between Sony & EA like what happened between EA & Nintendo.

But I don't see how this method makes any business sense. Microsoft would need to change their advertising. Retail sales would be impacted. Retailers would need to advise customers. Casual gamers would probably get confused and angry.
This idea would only make sense if they weren't already offering the Vault, discounts and early access as value. It doesn't really make sense to cut out the majority to improve subscription numbers. They'd not only be losing sales but they'd be losing access to a huge microtransaction consumer base too and lose their online numbers. They'd probably lose a large number of customers for a small amount who would pay more? No way.
I just don't see what the motivation is outside of fucking gamers over for absolutely no reason other than to be evil. I know EA tends to be money grubbing but it still needs to make sense. Locking used games away under the Xbox One DRM made sense and it didn't work. In this instance the screwing isn't worth the payoff.

PS Now is still in beta though....they've said multiple times the prices will change.
The EA model is really only beneficial right now to the annual madden/fifa/nhl buyer. I'll be interested to see how it evolves and if/when it catches on.
People cancelling their pre-orders simply for the 10% discount it would seem. Who'd want to play FIFA14 when FIFA15 is out?

There are strengths and weaknesses to having Sony control over games access through subscriptions compared to letting anyone make their own micro-subscriptions.
History has shown through cable television and AOL that Sony's approach is better for consumers.
In a few years after other companies like Ubisoft and Capcom also offer micro subscriptions on Xbox One but not PS4 you guys will fully understand how badly this can get out of hand.

To those saying that, if this subscription were available for PS4, they would still put games on PS+ because they would never turn down the chance for more profit...I present you with Origin. I mean, how silly would it be to not sell massive games like Mass Effect 3, Titanfall, or Battlefield 4 on Steam, the largest digital games storefront on PC? Think of the audience they'd miss out on by keeping them exclusively to Origin. No, they would definitely put their games on PS+, just as certain as I possess the Steam SimCity Trading Card badge.

Why 6? for one year ps+ i get more than 50 games.
For one year EA access i get 10(probably less than 10) if im lucky.

Of course not, but you get to play the game 5 days ahead of release to decide if you want to buy it or not (again, just like Season Ticket, a service that has been offered on PSN for years).
Sadly this is correct PS+ is great if you still use your PS3. I am moving on to new generation only and PS+ has been a huge disappointment so far for the PS4. The value on the PS3 was so good I bought a couple years a head of time assuming the same value on the PS4. Maybe having the EA service on the PS4 would of gotten Sony to step up their offerings of PS+ on the PS4 beyond indy games.

You'd have buy like 6 EA games a year for it to be worth it. I'd stick to the 20 percent discount that something like GCU provides.

Is it though? The annual FIFA player (Of which I am one) doesn't wanna wait months for FIFA 15 to be released on EA Vault. Unless I'm missing something here!

Not sure. Discounting the free (old) games, you're only going to be getting about $5 off a game. Can you see yourself buying six EA games in a year just to justify the discount? Seems awfully expensive for essentially a closed service.

I appreciate this step on their part. The last thing we need is a bunch of company-specific subscription services to keep track of in addition to everything else.

Everyone is under the assumption that this major decision wasn't already focus group tested.
EA isn't going to pull support from the PS4 either. And if they did, bring in 2K. Not gonna lose sleep over this decision.

This doesn't bother me because I hate EA trying to push shit like this on consumers; they're constantly trying to wring every penny out of them.
It sucks for people who wanted it, but I get the feeling there's a lot more concern trolling going on in this thread than people who genuinely wanted to subscribe.
Thats false most of the sports games get significant upgrades yearly. This reeks of someone who doesn't play many in depth. Hate Madden but looking at the 2 hour livestream of things they changed/tweaked proves that false.

If you're an Ultimate Team player on Madden or FIFA, then that 10% can go a long way also.

Not really, EA doesn't have a whole lot to offer on the PS4 besides Battlefield and their sports games so none of those would be offered at this time. I'm assuming that the games that will be played are only next gen titles, which for EA, there isn't a whole lot.
Is it because you believe companies only look out for the interest of themselves and not their customers?
If so, that's ok but you can't hold onto that belief when one company has it and the other doesn't because one of them clearly has to be working less for your interest.
Considering their actions in the past year you would trust MS over Sony to be looking out for you?
