Its quite interesting ever since TGS Sony hasn't made a major peep in regards to the PS3; like they've gone into a state of total silence even in the light of X05 and the upcoming Xbox 2 launch.

Anyhow anybody get the feeling Sony's quietness is just setting the stage for something?

They're always quite before they roll out something big. They were so quite before E3 that people were saying they'd have almost nothing there related to the PS3 and it'd mainly be a PSP show for them.
 
Sony is actually capable of keeping tight, not leaking stuff unlike another company we know which seems to suffer from incontinence.

Anyway, I am eager to get some news. I hope some new games will be shown before February.

Btw, is it reasonable to think Sony might show something around the time of the 360 launch? Just to try and steal some thunder?
 
They don't have to. 360 will sell to the early adaptors anyway and sony also doesn't need to take any attention away from PS2 this holiday season. Maybe they'll do a blowout at CES, if not then there's that february show.
 
they are quite, becouse they want that this christmas the attantion be turned for Ps2 and PsP and not around Ps3.....after this Christmas will begin the show :)

First Ps3 playable show is fixed for February 2006.
 
It is pretty quite isnt it, its only four or so months efore launch if there march sprigtime thing is to go by. We had seen alot more of the 360 four months before launch. lol i love how if we dont hear anything on ps3 then its becuase it super big coming with teh ps3 megaton, but on the other hand we go without anything on 360 then its all ms is teh doomed stuff. Horses for courses i guess.

If you've followed Sony, that's their track record. Whenever they go quite they've got something up their sleeve. But I guess that's why they're able to surprise people, because for some reason even thogh they always do this people think they've either messed up or just don't have anything.

we should get a date a day or 2 before the 360 launch. wouldn't be suprised if we got a price as well.

i'd imagine they'll just try to kill 360 hype the same way the went about doing it with Dreamcast. i doubt Sony is seeing Nintendo as much of a threat (if any), so i don't think Nintendo will be much of a factor for Sony when deciding when to release this type of info.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've got more worry about Nintendo. As Nintendo's shown with the DS that there is a market for something "different" and that's what the Rev will be. It doesn't mean it'll catch on, but its got to have them thinking if it could be a big threat to them atleast in Japan.

perhaps in japan. i mean, i personally think it would be stupid for Sony to not see Nintendo as a threat. but hey, they have been cocky as of late.

Im sure sony are really worried about the effect that revo will have in japan. If DS succeeded, then why cant revolution? I dont think they will be as bothered about Nintendo in America. MS is their real worry in NA. i wouldnt be surprised at all if Sony announced some details regarding PS3 around the time that X360 will launch. They know that Xbox360 will be a big threat to their dominance in NA, so why not try and steal the show during their launch?

That would be because MS isn't concerned about a drop in console sales of the Xbox because it's never going to turn a profit for them anyway... as oppose to Sony which needs to do a delicate balancing act between keeping focus on the current console and the string of the AAA titles that are still coming for it, and keep focus on the PSP.

Duh.
 
Sony have been quiet for like .. only one week, are people expecting them to have a press event every day?

It wasn't that long ago that we had the 120fps thing.
