Soulframe Preludes: Gameplay

Thats why I think it looks fake. The animations are...very off..dunno how else to say but it looks like AI made. Doesnt look gamey? No idea how to describe it but its just very weird.
It looks like typical eurojank to me. When you play enough Eurojank you start to understand why this looks the way it does. Eurojank is always really cool concepts mixed with something safe(in this case spiritual imagery mixed with European fantasy) with not the most presentable execution.

The excess amount of fog and bloom and those unfinished animations are pretty big flags that this isn't fake. I don't see a world where a dev would purposefully make up fake footage and have it appear this unfinished, and also have it appear as if someone smeared Vaseline over the entire image, to try and impress people. I don't know what you've been looking at lately that's made you this skeptical, but it sounds like you went down a pretty deep rabbit hole so I'm a bit curious.

This feels more like I traveled back in time to when Dark Sector was released and the same devs ended up making this game 2 years later. It would have ended up in the same bargain bin back then. You'd buy this and Two Worlds as a deal for 4.99 together.

You know how theres "this looks too good to be true", well in this case "it looks too bad to be true" like they wanted to impress the crowd but somehow messed up in pre-rendering the animations and thats why they feel so laggish, like every frame feels like it lags a bit which is an issue with rendering. Maybe I'm high. Anyway, will see when it drops.

This blows that it isn't single player with drop in co-op as that's what the gameplay showcase seemed like. But it's more in the style of destiny where every quest has voice lines and stuff it could be very cool even though it's an MMO.

I think someone filmed a projector. I can't imagine the game looking this bright and washed out.

For Modern MMOs, most of them are so solo-friendly that you can usually complete most, if not all of the game just playing through it alone. ESO is 98% this way and I've had a ton of fun with it.

The days of FFXI and EverQuest-style of sitting around in town spamming chat for a group up because the content can't be soloed, are long gone at this point. You either solo it all or do a quick 4-man matchmaking queue for the very few dungeons or raids that honestly have been tuned to be easier in most games, aside from maybe Destiny 2 and FFXIV.

There's a video that goes over why the online multiplayer scene eventually shifted over to this since the 90s, and one of the biggest reasons is due to a large chunk of that community simply being older, with too many responsibilities to dedicate large chunks of time to making sure they had people to meet up and play with.

The magick. It's in you.
Yours. Like the wind.

Well, let's see what this thing is all about, how it plays and such.

I've tried to get into Warframe multiple times but... too much stuff in the game, year and years of updates and shit, it's was too late and pointless.

If anyone needs invites, PM me, I've 4 - first 4 PMs will get invites.

hey, the gameplay doesn't look like absolute shit anymore... that's something. some of the animations are still a bit, meh... but it improved a lot for sure. I think they've shown it a bit too soon, many got a really bad impression from the early gameplay I think

So... hmm. I've played around 3-4 hrs, finished the story quests that were available.

The game looks like pure and utter shit man. How can you release a game that looks this bad in 2025? Why are they using this 15 yo engine with cube maps, extremely simple geometry, LOTs of repetitive assets and designs, terrible models, lots of empty houses, and boring open world...? It's just ruined everything imho and by everything I mean really cool medieval + sci-fi tech setting, some nice atmosphere, incredibly vertical and sprawling dungeons (all look similar though). I also don't like the way they're telling the story - it's barely even there, extremely anticlimactic and what's there is surface level at best.

Combat is not ready at all, it's good enough for testing but it must not be like this during release. There's no lock-on either. Map design is utter shit and given that there's multiple layers and stuff, it must be like in Dead Space. The Overworld map is also not good to say the least. Anyway, if what I've played will be like this on release no matter how much content there'll be there, the game will bomb hard cuz it's barely even a game, it's just a concept for something much better at best.
