It’s Game Developers Conference time once again, and while headlines are a bit light, it’s a great place to find game developers (of course). We’ll be bringing you videos, interviews, and conversations over the next several days, as well as a mega GDC Blogcast on Thursday. The first game we got ahold of here at GDC is upcoming PS Vita musical platformer Sound Shapes. The game is best seen (and heard), so we present here Jason deGroot of Queasy Games. In this video, deGroot takes you on a tour through a never-before-seen level, as well as sharing the in-game tutorial, so you know exactly what you’ll be seeing when you load up Sound Shapes for the first time.

So when do you get to play Sound Shapes on your own personal Vita? The Queasy Games team doesn’t yet have a release date, but they confirmed that a pre-release demo is in the making. We’ll keep you posted.

Game looks fantastic to me, can't wait to see how much depth there is in creating the musical elements. Hopefully we will get a release date soon.

Do you guys think it'll possible to make music sound more like other styles, like Rock/Metal or something more Acoustic? I just see eletronic music.

Everyday Shooter had quite a lot of acoustic audio in it I think (it's been a while) so I would think it's possible. Themed levels maybe?

not sure, I know you collect stuff for creating your own stuff while playing similar to LBP, and part of that is instruments. So I think you should be able to create different types of music, but i'm not sure what the range is like genre wise.

No firm release date for either the game or the demo. Sigh.

well the positive is that he says in the video that at this point they are just adding more content, and that the tech and everything is set. So atleast it sounds like they could be close to finished.

I agree it's disappointing not having a date though, especially since this was supposed to be a launch window game. I'd rather they not rush though.

Does look fantastic. Reminds me I need to download Everyday shooter on Vita!

Controls seems really fluid and solid too.

Exactly. This is one of the most interesting games on the Vita and I'll gladly wait until they get it right.

We still don't know the details of the Deadmau5 collaboration. I guess we will get some of his sample to use, or maybe even some levels created by him.
