The Kanye callback was very funny. I liked the ending. It was the opposite of that facebook episode ending where the guy with the wierd clone got many facebook friends at the end.

Since there is only one batch of episodes instead of spring and fall half-seasons and it begins the same week as season 17 did I'm guessing there are 10 episodes this year too. I hadn't seen any confirmation but I don't see them doing more than 10 episodes, maybe with some breaks too (remember that season 17 had two weekly breaks, though one was unplanned).
It's 18th season, they've been doing the series since 1997, Trey and Matt are probably tired but still want to do the show, that's why they prefer shorter format like this.

This. I believe they stated as such in an interview last year before the first 10-episode run. They love the show, but don't want to get burned out on it. Having time do other projects helps.
I'd love to see them make another movie outside of South Park. The Book of Mormon was amazing, but only a fraction of their fanbase has actually been able to see it.

I imagine he was referring to how before last season we got 14 episodes total per season.

Ugh. 10 episodes sucks. At this point I'd rather they do one episode a month, cover everything that happened that month, and have like 12 episodes a year. So much happens in the other 42 weeks that they don't get to touch on.

Guys it's Wednesday. Season 18 Episode 1 airs on Wednesday September 24 which is one week from now. OTs are supposed to go up one week before the show airs to build hype. I understand that we don't have a preview image or episode description just yet but the show's coming in one week from now and the preview will be coming shortly.
Just thought it'd be cool to have a new thread to build hype. If you guys want to wait a few days I guess that's cool too.
The previews usually go up between 7 and 9 PST the Sunday night before the episode airs. It's almost always the episode title that gets posted first with maybe a blurb and a pic, then shortly after that a quick video clip.
