I have seen threads on ERA about this and I always wondered if there was some secret anti-cirumcision group that all these people go to to get their information and here is the proof LOL. I guess their really is some sub cutlure that thinks they have to save peoples dicks.
No one is forcing people to get circumcisions, if you don't want your children to have one then don't give them one.

Are you taking the piss? Every single person who has no decision in parts of their body being removed is being forced. And yes if the parents are the ones that ae wanting it - THEY ARE FOCING IT ON THEIR KIDS.

Babies and children are always forced to have circumcisions, because they can't make informed decisions themselves yet.
Circumcision should only be done for medical reasons or from 18 and up IMO.

I am saying no one is forcing parents to get circumcision for their children. If you don't want your kids circumcised then they don't have to be. If Muslims/Jewish people want to do it for religious reasons thats up to them. Same goes for parents that do it for health reasons. But no one is making you as a parent get your child circumsized. OTOH if you as a parent want it done then you should have the freedom to do so. Its such a begnin thing that makes 0 difference in a persons life. A cicrumsized dick is just as functional and normal as a non one.
You don't have to stand up for peoples dicks, an inch of foreskin isn't a cause celebre.
But seeing this video (with this really angry guy) I can see that their really exists a movement of men who think they need to save peoples dicks out there.

The point is it's against the child's will. You know. Since parents aren't guardians. I wasn't aware we were responsible for birthing roommates when choosing to have children. 
What do you think of parents deciding on the circumcision of their daughter? Still ok? It is their parents choice right? I am sorry but this should not be done by parents just like the baptism of their child. This is a decision the child alone has to do.

First off I did not watch the video, but I'm assuming this has to do with male circumcision and not female. I am 100% against female circumcision. That said I feel like this is one of those things that I think I should care about, but I really don't. This is something that was done to me and I don't blame my parents for it at all. In fact I would prefer to be this way. I've heard horror stories about Phimosis. Yeah, no thanks to that.

Being a parent or guardian doesn't give you an unlimited license to do whatever you want to your children. That's why we have child protection services in developed countries.
Chopping off a piece of skin or body part or whatever the heck when the child can't consent to it is just unethical. I don't know what it's supposed to achieve anyway. If it's a religious tradition, isn't it a much more powerful and beautiful thing if a person willingly undergoes it because of their conviction? Doing it to a child achieves nothing but show the parents' piety. I don't understand how any God could be impressed by such a display.

Firstly no ones against medical circumcision. Secondly Phimosis isn't that common, and can be treated without recourse to full circumcision. Bizarrely enough large tracts of humanity get by without recourse to mutilating their kids. As Internet Musketeer said its unethical.

Obviously, removing the clitoris and whatever else they do to girls/women is not ok. Conflating that with male circumcision is disingenuous. I'm not saying everyone should circumcise their child but advocating the state to try and criminalize the practice as mutilation of children is, I think, the more concerning issue.
You force children basically to follow a religious ideology. And I do not think that this is ok. I would also do it with baptism which should not be done due to the wish of the parrents. Religion is not something you are born with. Religion is something you should chose by yourself.

I disagree. If as an adult you want to choose another path, that's fine. But as a child, the parent has every right to instill teachings in their child.
But...the main reason Americans circumcise is puritan ideology of curbing masturbating and sexual drive...neither of which has anything to do with Jews or Muslims...
