Why does his eyemask thing make the Switch noise?

If it's coming to Prime Video, i'll definitely give it a go. Simple because it is the man himself, Nicholas Cage. But zero expectations from it.

Seen comments from people complaining that it's black and white and people won't watch it..

Those people apparently don't remember Into the Spider-verse that well, as it established Spider-man Noir's world is black and white, and he couldn't perceive colors aside from those two while he was in Miles' universe (hence his confusion when looking at a Rubik's cube).

This looks like a hot mess but ill give it a go.

Dont like 2 versions though, can you really shoot for both? Good B&W requires using 'real' colors that would look odd in real life. I feel like its gonna make both versions seem too cartoon when a singular choice would have been better. Hopefully they shot for B&W and the colorized version was forced by Amazon and is what it is.

How did this end up on Amazon, anyway? A deal with Sony with no Disney involvement?

I think it looks fun. casting the assistant as a large Asian woman is a little weird.

never has there been a better time to be ugly in hollywood and get cast.

Man, this looks great. A lot better than I expected. Looking forward to it! Having Nic Cage in it guarantees that it will at the very least be interesting.

Yeah, that was weird honestly. Like you said, I hope they shot it with the idea of the b/w being the primary version. I love proper b/w movies as they do stuff with shadows and lighting that just doesn't translate well to color.

Nicholas Cage as Spider Noir?

Me on my way to Hollywood to get some of those ugly people roles. (Because I am ugly.)

Not really, it's mostly different lighting, but you can just adjust that in post.
They did the same for werewolf by night, shot in colour with BW lighting in mind, edited it to BW in post, then printed it to BW film, then scanned it back in digitally; later released in colour as well by by going back to the original colour film and editing it for colour consistency and adjusted lighting.

They did this because people see black and white and say nope.

Maybe it's just the way they've cut the trailer and the actual show will be different but this doesn't feel very noir.

To be honest it doesn't look very good.
But still, I won't miss out on watching Nick Cage playing SpiderMan,

The "doesn't feel very noir" comment is fair. The teaser leans more pulpy than moody. Noir usually lives and dies on atmosphere, pacing, and moral tension, not just black & white visuals.

If they actually commit to slow-burn detective storytelling and not just Cage quirkiness in a trench coat, it could land. But yeah, the trailer alone doesn't fully sell the noir vibe yet.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are involved.

It has Nic Cage as Spider-Man

I'm in

Wait, this is a whole new movie instead of just an existing film with the colors removed?

Well....maybe I'll check it out on streaming just for the novel concept alone

I think it is a series, so probably 6+ episodes. Hopefully it is episodic with each ep a whole new caper or whatever the hell he is doing.
