The game should start putting 3 maps in every rotation soon. Maybe at the end of the month. =D
It's not really spoken about much, but I do think the grids are possibly one of the best small design features in the game. They've got a fantastic risk/reward mechanic.

Two splatzones. One on the far left side of the picture and one symmetrically on the other side of the map. The only connection between the sections is through the grid bridges. Let the fun begin!
Yes, they are really clever. Fortunately no water here.
I think they'll want a library of eight available before they do that. I don't believe there's any overlap between Ranked and Turf War, is there, so they're currently using up four maps per rotation. Add to that that I don't think they'll put the same map in the same category twice, and then having eight total allows for three choices out of five for each category, which should result in a good mix.
Remember that the launch game had two choices out of three in one category for each rotation.
New slang term, meaning "I just made one tiny mistake with huge knock-on effects": "Oh, squid on a grid".
why? it's fairly pointless without weapons, isn't it?

It can be used to better group players based on rank. Not all Lv.20s are equal.

Nice it's getting added so soon, I think it's going to be great in Splat Zones.
I lost attention last week when playing the same few maps over and over and over. One more map isn't going to make me go back, not yet anyway. I think they did t more because they don't have a decent release schedule (only yoshi in Europe) this summer so need something, anything they can cling to and it's the dlc of this game, which has annoyed me.
I know, but it will make it easier for a while. I mean, it won't hurt anyone to add more levels.
Are you sure? I feel like I faced more low leveled player the lower I was in Turf Wars/regular.
How is Yoshi on 26th of June and Devil's Third on 28th of August not a decent summer schedule? And Project Robot might be also a summer release.
