Just got this after work today and I've already put in a few hours. I knew the multiplayer was going to be fun from the test sessions but I'm really enjoying the single player too. The movement alone is so satisfying and makes combat feel that much better. I was going to wait a while to pick this up because I'v got such a backlog but I'm really glad I didn't.
So a few things:
1) Got more SP action time---love that world 3 and 4 start to show the games strengths in level design. Nothing is difficult, but it's all fun. I would've loved to get 5 more worlds out of the SP. Too bad it's only 5. I would've also loved a "hard mode" variant for seasoned gamers, but meh oh well.
2) Sometimes I can play oh 20+ games in a row. Then I get the shit tonight. I do one game---fuck your shit wii u can't find your damn router or the internet. Kill yourself zlatko. That's the error code I get. Okay... mid game. "connection unstable... visit your local gun store and finish yourself off." Da fuck? Come on now! I just want to play games without this mess.
The only fix is to reset the Wii U.
I have NO issues playing Super Smash Wii U for hours on end in for glory, with no lag... so what in the hell is wrong with this game?

While playing through the singleplayer I was thinking they could have easily made a huge campaign style game of it. Stealth with the squid mechanic, various weapons and all that. I wish there was more of it. I had fun sneaking up on enemies.
I saw some headphones on someone yesterday, I had Spyke get'm for me and I bought them when I first logged on last night. He charged me 5k. I then went in to the hat shop. They were for sale for 2.2k. I'm not even wearing them. Luckily I have way more cash than I need right now.
So I mentioned how I'm almost always playing with gaf people... now all my gaf friends are offline. I need more friends. NNID: Xetehlol
Finished the main story. The final Boss felt great, very good challenge. Every other boss felt lacking, it's like Zelda's find it's weakpoint and it's basically dead already. But that final boss man..
I've sick of playing online now, I've been winning constantly with the roller (OP bro.) Decided to switch it up a bit with other weapons but they aren't those crazy fun weapons to use they are just boring rifles.... I hope we get more fun weapons in the future that are as creative as the roller.
The game really doesn't have that much Squidling customization as I thought. Most of the outfits are plain boring clothes I'd find in my closet or someone's else closet. There's no hair customizations, and all the cool items are rewarded once you finished the main story or used one of your Splatoon Amiibo for their outfits. (I thought I'd find outfits on par with the Squid News Girls. STAY FRESH!

Local play being on 1 vs 1 is terribad, had so many friends who wanted to play this but had to settle with 1 vs 1. Why can't we do 2 vs 2? Or try 3 vs 3? Or pull a Nintendo land and have games like Hide N' Seek or Tag or something that makes use of the 1 vs 4 playstyle or something like that. This game has a ton of opportunity for local play games, but they choose to focus on online instead. :/
The main story really could had benefit from a Ratchet and Clank playstyle (earning money to purchase new weapons, and being able to use the whole arsenal of splatoon weapons), and there was no need for a secondary hub world to unlock the actual missions. Finding the hidden sewer pipes was annoying and didn't even teach you about new obstacles in the later levels because all of this stuff was shown beforehand in other missions.
Other gripes:
Can't play with my pro controller (I understand why, the advantage of warp hopping during online play. There still could be ways around this control wises, very disappointed about this.)
Your Squidling doesn't have any other kind of pants to wear. Your stuck with the same black shorts and nothing else..... Weird gripe, but really?

Just spent an hour trying to finish the final boss. That thing is no joke and I'm defeated for tonight :/
got up to the part where there's only a narrow path with platforms on the side to dodge the beams and got knocked off by the fists all three stocks.
Dude its not that hard
I got to the very end on my first run and lost. My tip, use the Shield, and Tornado blaster to help knock the purple ball thing. The shield blocks the sonic wave's, save it till the very end to finish the dude off as he is shooting a sonic wave you will have enough time to shoot the ball during it's last 2-3 knocks.
Remember there are 5 parts to him, he's actually very easy. Remember to dodge, always prepare to shoot and hit his fists, and it's okay to miss a fist once in a while if it means saving your skin.
He is no joke for sure.

That only happened to me when I needed to reset my wireless router.
I dunno, my online experience has been very solid so far. Not sure the issues on some people's ends.

Nah, not using that Blaster anymore. Such a cheap weapon, maybe not a point magnet but absolutely dominant in defending anything. Unless the other team is using far range weapons or also a blaster there's absolutely no reason you'll actually be in danger. No doubt that thing is gonna dominate some of the ranked modes.
