Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Actually watching a player disconnect is some weird shit, they just disappear in a puff of smoke

Yesterday I was super pissed when I STARTED a match with only 3 people on the pad in the intro cutscene, and the enemy had 4.

I can live with finding out after a match that we had a bad time because we were down a person, it makes the loss not sting so bad. But starting out like that?! Come on, you had time to notice that there were only 3 before it started! Kick us back to matchmaking and do it again!

I enjoyed the demo.

I enjoy that a third person shooter on the Wii U from Nintendo EAD Group No. 2 has a 318 page OT on NeoGAF.

I will get this video game.

Guys look I think I found some Splatoon "ink" IRL.

I already know it will be my GOTY. Nothing else can come close.

Yeah, I'm pretty much nailed down for me as well.

Even though I've had tons of fun with quite a lot of other games already, this one sticks out heads and shoulders above everything else.
It really is something very special.

Glad that it's doing so well also since I would hate for it to bomb and be a one-off.

Yeah I honestly think Splatoon is going to be my GoTY, especially when the content updates are all dropped.

Also holy SHIT @ that first match on Mackerel @ Enforced. I've never gone so HAM before in this game. :lol

Just wait until the Dark Squids and Bloodpaint patches hit in November!

RE: GOTY: I dunno. Bloodborne has equally great "game feel," and is incredible in terms of its progression, cleverness, secrets within secrets, etc. I'll say that Bloodborne and Splatoon are definitely at the front of the pack for me, though.

I'm quite enjoying the Kelp Splat Charger

re: GOTY talk, too early. a game like Splatoon is dependent on it's longevity. Early promise is good though and I see myself playing for a long time if the content keeps coming in. It's between this or Hotline Miami 2 for me so far.

Both games have great splatter tech.

At the end of the year with all the dlc added it will have a lot of content.
And yet still won't be good enough to beat Bloodborne :p

I never stopped playing Bloodborne for months straight, and I'm already getting bored of Turf War. It's always just a consistent 1200-1500 points, and I win or lose depending on the rest of my team. That's it!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the enemies we can see at 1:15 of this video are not present is the final game right ? And I don't remember this level either... Future DLC campaign confirmed !!!?
Probably cut content

I think those are the things that light up and start sparking and running towards you when they see you

Haven't touched story mode yet; is it good for practicing new weapons versus playing against actual people? Don't want to drag people down in regular battle with weapons I'm not used to.

Quick question: do the Sunken Scrolls you get in singleplayer (not from bosses) do anything? I've got like...1. I'm not very good at finding them haha.

The Skatepark has really grown on me, used to be irritated by it but having gotten used to it I really like it. Only map I'm not too keen on atm is Port Mackerel but maybe that will improve with time too. Still suck at Splat Zones!

Finished the single player, really enjoyed the variation in the levels. A little short but knew that going in and worth the time spent on it, especially since the final boss is amazing, though I hilariously actually had an easier time with it than one of the sponge levels near the end where I just kept fucking falling off :( The secret scroll about
Judd made me a little sad, I love him.

Game overall is just so worth investing in, going to be so gutted if Splatoon doesn't get to become one of Nintendo's big IPs.

I can imagine a meltdown if Splatoon will end up anywhere near the GAF top 5 this year.
I'm fairly confident Splatoon will make the GAF Top 5, or at least the Top 10. Bloodborne will be No. 1, but Splatoon will still chart high on the strength of its content rollout sustaining interest.

As long as updates come out consistently I don't think I'll get tired of it for a long time

Splat zones is pretty fun, trying to get to A+ is a good change of pace. Also the single player is great at least in my opinion.

You only use 1 weapon in story mode.

Splatoon is my #1 because it's attempting something new, while all the other big timers are just honed experiences. Affordable Space Adventures is my #2.

Hmm. I think me and the Duel Squelcher might just get along. Extra range + killing power over the Aerospray seems like it could be useful in Ranked.

I am not challenging you. You can like what you want.

I am just saying that the game will have a lot more content by the end of the year because that was one of your criticisms.

For me, it feels fresh and new and exciting and all I want to do is play it, but hey, to each their own.
