You know that retro-style minigame they showed in one of the trailers that looked like a shooter in the vein of the 2D Duke Nukems? Whatever happened to that?
What's a good machinegun-esque weapon for ranked? I've been loyal to the vanilla splattershost for ages now (and will continue to on turf war), but the way ranked works it's not cutting it. The bomb rush with burst bomb really isn't as good as other specials for ranked ;_;.

.96 gal. Splats enemies in two hits, reaches far enough to pick off snipers on high ground, and outranges most (if not all) of the SMGs. Echolocator is an amazing special for picking off enemies in hiding, and the sprinkler is a very effective way to bait enemies out, as it is capable of taking an entire splat zone by itself.
I'll use basically anything with a sprinker, but the .96 gal is far and away my favorite.

You sure ? I don't remember seeing these big masked tentacles at all, and I played the single player at least twice. Do you remember any level we can see them ?
I made it to level 20. So time to try ranked again and well, I almost got into overtime so the 5 minutes might have actually meant something but nope total knockout 0 points thanks for wasting your time might as well lost it 3 minutes ago so at least then it would be more efficient than a turf war for the victors oh and now you're back to 0 points C-.
Not bitter in the slightest. I'm never leaving C- am I? Of course I could exactly expect the mode to change in one day.
The only good thing out of the match was learning that the opponent placing a mine a mine where they are camping is a thing to watch out for. In this case the tower on skatepark. I overrun the location take down both guys there and boom there goes me. So interesting tactics (as interesting as junior campers get) but I've got gold to earn so I can't spend my time on not earing gold.
Speaking of gold by deciding to ignore the 30,000g T-shirt Spyke wants to sell me I treated myself to a .96 Gal. Wonderful stuff, being able to 2 shot enemies means the fighting other players is mutually assured destruction less often. Plus I can out range rollers which were a problem for my Splattershot Jr.
I have my beloved echolocator and the sprinklers are a lot better than disruption bombs too (in the lagland that is online for me these are too unreliable, you don't know when or if they activeate). I've found myself throwing them at the start point to end the question of "who shoots the start point", bulid up my meter very slightly, then swimming to recover the ink spend. Plus they make great bait in the battlefield and just being generally cheeky (the raised part of the rig that in the opponent starting area, where you can just shoot that part the sprinkler is more effective is getting a radius).
Of course the downside of the .96 Gal is it is so thirsty for ink. I've managed to be in firefights where I've lost due to running out of ink or winning on my last shot.
Playing around on the firing range I found as far as attack/defence up perks go in the case of attack up nothing really benefits from it a lot from it aside from the .52 Gal as defence up can make it lose its ability to two shot a target. In other words the strong stuff one shots anyway, the weak weapons take lots anyway so only mid range matters. That is of course assuming you are always full health when fighting.
That is good Intel to know actually. I really need to spend a day just playing around with each weapon type so I can come accustomed to their stats and locate their strengths/weaknesses. Then I can exploit the weaknesses with my Jr. MWAHAHAHA
I can't stand playing against competent players sporting the 96 Gal. It has further distancing than the Jr., and even if you outmaneuver the opponent, they usually respond enough in time to one-hit kill me right before they splat. It can even defend someone off who has the higher ground if used correctly.
Shame I rolled bad abilities on almost every slot. Really need ink saver main or special charge up on the N-Zapper but I just got a bunch of special duration up instead.
All you guys and your fancy weapons. I will continue to use Jr. until there's a better gun that also has a bubbler. The bubbler is key for my playing style.
How does overtime in ranked battles work? My team keeps going to them with the lead and then we lose when the other team gets a couple of points. Is it just who gets points first?

If a team has complete control of the capture points (as in, their timer is still ticking), the game will go on for however long that they can still maintain that capture.
I've managed to win a Ranked battle once when going into overtime and that shit was too tense. it was 20 vs 1(!) seconds, we had to get down that timer entirely to zero or we were fucked. And we did it.
