Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I thought I was gonna love the Zapper but man that ink consumption is brutal. I can't get used to it at all.

Back to the Custom Jr again.

I know the feeling, I was really enjoying the Zapper yesterday but today has been non-stop frustration at running out of ink a number of times during prolonged firefights. Starting to consider using the 92 Gal instead since if I'm already struggling for ink I may as well pack a much better punch.

Well, after the frustration of trying to gel with other weapons today, I'm back to the roller. And it feels sooooo goooooood.
Not sure what it is, I get pretty frustrated playing any other weapon, even when I do well. But not with a roller, I just goof off most of the time and have a blast.

This makes no sense. You have to move at extremes and can't gradually adjust without changing your positioning. I just have to tilt my wrist.
That makes it less fluid, because you have to add in an extra complex step that's constantly breaking. And you just use your thumb smarter.

You "just" have to aim well lol

Sometime I'm doing super good with it and sometime I'm super awful.
But I'm a fan.

So I hit level 20... I'm going to try this Forge Splattershot Pro. The tank doesn't seem as bad as the other unless I'm imagining things.

You still using the Dynamo? I don't use rollers a ton but I can't get used to that slow flick.

Final boss was pretty legit. Some classic Nintendo volleyball stuff going on, if you know what I mean. Would be so down for a sequel already. Really enjoyed the single player stuff and there's a ton of good groundwork here for a better, more realized story mode. Shame they locked away those challenges behind the figures. Would have been a cool unlockable if we were still on Wii and Amiibo didn't exist, ha!

Krak-ing up in front of someone is the best feeling ever, even if you don't like the roller at all.

I like motion controls, especially with the Wii Remote. But in this case, I turned them off simply because of the small space were I play and that I usually play with the gamepad plugged. Only unplug it when I lay on bed to watch a movie.

Breaking? I guess you mean when it's off center, all I have to do is press Y, which my thumb is resting near cause I'm pressing jump. You literally have to move your character to do things putting you out of position, I don't and can flick my wrist. Remember, I barely have to move my wrist, this isn't a sword game, and with +1.5 I get all the speed I need to move as quick or quicker than a stick flick, not to mention being able to instantly turn around using the same calibration button.

There are many possible reasons for this:

Your playstyle lends itself to being weak against it (close range).
Areospray has a relatively high level unlock, so whoever has it is experienced.
Aerospray will always score highly due to good ink coverage.

All good points! Or, it could be because it's just a tad too powerful :) I'd be interested to see some analytics from their database surrounding that weapon.

Hmm, well I move my character sometimes, so this tends to happen a lot haha. And if you have to plan ahead to not ruin the controls, they aren't good controls. This is pretty intuitive stuff.

Only started to use it, love the sprinkler.

Hmm, I kind of wish your analogue stick could move the camera up and down in addition to side to side when using motion controls. I'm getting thrown off trying to adjust the camera because I'll have the stick at an angle instead of perfectly left or right. If it also moved the camera up and down I'd have a little more feedback.

Still can't get used to twisting for left and right aiming either. I end up defaulting to the analogue for that but sometimes run into my first problem.

EDIT: I probably just need to play more.

Are main abilities fixed for every equipment? Like if I like a certain item but the ability is sucky, say defense plus, what are my options, can it reappear with a different skill? And if I already bought it, can I sell it or something? Or am I stuck with that main skill?

Lmao, at this point you're just making things up.
I'm literally using what you're saying about the controls haha. There's also no reason to switch in the first place. Unintuitive and no noticeable benefits. If you can't aim with the stick I guess that's another issue.

No need to insult him.
Some people can't wrap their heads around the idea that different people enjoy different things, and get mad because they see it as an attack against their own preferences. Best to ignore it.

And squid racing complete! Those last 5 stages are a pain in the ass.

Ok this map selection can't be random. It's always like 5 times the one map, 5 times the other. I refuse to believe this happens just by chance all the time. Either way it's getting really annoying playing the same map over and over again.
