Splinter Cell 4 X360 images

If these are drawings then why are the comments under the pics stuff like "Xbox 360 does a mean lighting system, we are having a hard time beleiving how good it looks!"?
Trust me, they are real-time. They just look THAT good. :lol

I believe you. That and the fact that they are scans of a magazine. Obvious all scans will look like drawings.

I've learned something from these videogame companies, if something looks too good to be true then it probably is.

As for the lighting tech, I'd say if any next-gen game will do it, it'll be this one. These games have always been great lighting-wise and i've heard that the 360 version takes this to another level. Take in the fact that its a realtime screenshot, and i'd say definetly YES. :D

besides Sam's proportion being totally off, does anyone know if ANY next gen technology can do glass reflections like in this picture?
Car games have been doing reflections for awhile now.

He's actually been begging to get banned all day. They probably aren't doing it to spite him.

I don't mind being banned. But just for future reference, how long is a first ban at GAF, permanent or like 2 weeks or something? Also, I posted these about 4 hours ago and still no ban. Just for reference. :D

I love when they think they are invincible.

Can anyone confirm from a 3rd party source that these are DRAWINGS???

They're realtime, the reason they look like a drawing is because they've been scanned from a magazine and apparently they've been photoshopped. It was the same thing when the MGS4 scans appeared before TGS, everybody thought the Otacon shot was a drawing, some even thought it was a real photograph. Scans usually make the game look better.

:lol They both definitely aren't launching in March.

Might also be the reason for increase japanese support for the 360, see Namco's crappy efforts.

The first one put me to sleep but I'd be willing to give the series another shot if they can produce the visuals from that multiplayer X05 demo.

Pssst....only about 10 days of spring are in March....

Oh and the new shots look *good*, but thats about it, IMO.....

And by photoshopping you mean drawing over the entire image.

I guess I still don't quite understand why anyone would question whether the shots are realtime or not. First of all, they don't look unbelievably good. Second, this is a Splinter Cell game; why wouldn't it be a stunner?

The one shot in particular looks like a painting and it doesn't seem to mate up with the other shots. Could be the scan muddying it up, but I gotta say, I question whether or not it is a screeny, not based on quality, but on the aesthetics.

holy jeez... this is called "muscles". try some form of excercise every once in a while and you'll get a neck like that too.

Is Shanghai is going to get sued for ripping off (and building) a futuristic cityscape?

yes.

That pic is WAY out of proportion. his head is about 2x too small for his body, his neck has somehow been absorbed into his trapezius, and his deltoid has somehow COMPLETELY DISSAPPEARED. to say nothing of the fact that his thigh is as thick as the body-trunk of the guy he's holding. There is something going on in this pic, either the magazine wasn't scanned properly, or sam has somehow magically contracted a combination of cushing's disease and duchenne muscular dystrophy. Seriously, His torso and thigh are so ridiculously out of proportion I feel the need to grab my copy of Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy and beat my computer screen with it.

well, take a look at this:

and now think again ;-)

This is what normally-proportioned heavily muscled physique should look like:

realTime_man3.jpg91cfd017-6f4a-4fa2-91e6-0585ee2a4480Large.jpg

And even this is too big to be Sam. Hell, the other shot in this thread shows proper scaling of his character model. So, doubtless, there was something fucked up going on when this image was captured.

Eh... that's heavily muscled physique? I'll be damned, I'm muscular.

The fact that no other game that I know of renders with this type of painterly effect is the reason I question if it's realtime. If you can post a screenshot of a realtime 3d game that does capture this look, please do, anyone. And I'm not talking about cell shading, I'm talking about a game that looks like concept art.
