Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Framerate

Runs at 30 fps a reasonable portion of the time, but does suffer from some hardcore tearing (IIRC). It's certainly not what I would call a "constant 30 fps game".

Ran smooth but if you Fuck up and get caught, and there's a fire fight, there are dips especially if moving the camera around. Overall the game runs pretty smooth.

The game is friggin awesome. Go get it.
It's most certainly the best in the series. No doubt about that.

Also, Amon Tobin's soundtrack is f*cking awesome (though actually works best in album form).

I'm in with ^^

God, I'm such an asshole. I've been trying to play through this for about 3 months now and can never make it past the 2nd level--or whichever one it is where you're on a ship for the 1st time. It looks incredible (really incredible), controls great, sound/music is awesome and yet it keeps putting me to sleep. Doesn't make any sense to me--part one I ate up in like 2 weeks.

framerate is much better than splinter 1 and 2 (pandora hade quite bad fps)

overall, smother and nicer looking. almost constant 30.. some drops but few and far between

great game (much better than the 1st two games)

One of you mentioned that it displays tearing at some points. Tearing usually occurs on games where the framerate isn't locked and is allowed to vary, including rates that are non-multiples of 30. Can I assume, then, that some parts of the game run at above 30, or is 30 the capped maximum?

I believe when you see the tearing, the framerate is getting too high actually. I rarely noticed it though.

This game was amazing. Best game in the series and one of the best games on the XBOX. Graphically it's in the top 3 and it uses light and shadow better than any other game IMO. The story was a bit over my head mainly cause I don't care much for the political aspects and terrorist ties, but once you're actually playing it's quite the experience.

The only time I would notice drops was when playing co-op over Live. I'm not sure if they ever fixed it with a patch or whatever, but it was pretty much a game breaker for me (co-op-wise) because it did it everytime you came across an enemy. So, the surprise of running into an enemy in the next room or over that fence or when he's walking through a door was pretty much negated. It was almost as if the game had problems loading the AI over Live (or if that's what it even does).
