Have you seen it? It kinda did, actually. They are using something they call "Geo texturing", which gives a very simillar results to normal mapping, as they are using real repeating geometry to model bumps. Of course, the major drawback is that usage of that technique is limited to things like floors and walls, and can't be applied to characters.eah, but it didn't have bump mapping, unlike these.
