this series has always been pretty. and it's also never been the problem with it. the problem lies in the gameplay. although the control and perspective and camera kick the ever lovin shit out of everything else. it's truely magnificent!

Does the gameplay still consists of trail and error?

It's still Splinter Cell. But now you can save and load at any time you want. It allows you to truly play with the game and experiment with everything without fear of having to start over a whole section. Makes the game much more enjoyable, IMO.

They finally added in the feature that the PC versions have had from the beginning?

Yep. If you have access to IGN Insider, the video interview with the game's producer explains about the game's non-linearity and save anywhere system, why it was implemented, etc.

And come on people! I'm not seeing enough love for this game!

I never quite understood the use of infrared 'see in the dark' googles that themselves emit this yellowish glow. Do the guards think they're three pretty little fireflies flying in a triangle formation?

That's one of the lines between videogame and reality. The concept is that these lights are completely invisible to the guards. They're a reference point so the player doesn't lose track of Sam on screen.

I can't see shit. They should skip masses of screenshots for the SC games and just release a few alongside a video, because they might as well be showing us gigantic black squares for screens at this rate.

Looks very nice! Too bad that RS4: Lockdown don't seem to use the same gfx engine...

However, cant'wait to play Sam Fisher again: I loved the first game and really liked Pandora Tomorrow, even if the single player was nothing more than a mission pack built upon the engine of the first.

Graphics look poor.
Here's hoping they inject some fun into this sterile series.

Well, you took care of the two cliched troll comments. It looks like your work is done in this thread.

I think it looks fantastic...especially the night shots with the search light and the tower.

That looks awesome.

The screens in original topic look like Pandora Tomorrow coated with a messy layer of bump/normal mapping.

Those do look better but I wouldn't go as far as to call the original pictures "poor."

I like the series, but it might just be the stealth game over in me. SC has always looked good, imo, but this one seems to take the cake. Though, co-op is going to be where it's at in this one.
