Someone tweeted some stupid anime thing to Nature Valley, and got an anime reply back i.e. whoever runs Nature Valley's Twitter watches anime. Cue a torrent of anime fans being nerds and flooding the Nature Valley feed with anime tweets and getting responses back.
(apologies to those of you in this thread who are perpetuating this, this isn't meaning to be as bitchy as it sounds...)
The Premium Edition, which will retail for US$249.99, will include all 70 episodes on nine Blu-ray Discs, a 76-page hardcover art book, clean openings and endings, and a collectable slip case. The Standard edition will ship in three 4-DVD volumes for US$59.99 each.
And here I am. I must admit, they reduced the padding somewhat in the last handful of episodes, but I've still skipped through a good 40 minutes of dead air in the last 15 episodes.
All the HxH talk made me reread the next Arc. While clearly shorter than others, actually it has lots of talking, it's pretty dense, so I think it will be more episodes than some people estimated.
"Gentlemen, behold my collection of slipcases!"
"What about the items that were contained in said cases?"
"Are you being silly right now? I just collect the slipcases. Do keep up old boy."

You know, I probably need to sleep on it (as it approached midnight here) but, by and large the hype for this series, both as an anime and as an adaptation, is rightfully earned. Quickly flicking through the main thread reveals some opinions I wouldn't necessarily agree with but bearing in mind my caveats with regard to this pacing arc I'd most definetenly recommend the show.
While the production did stutter, briefly, in late 80's/90's this remains the most impressively produced long running shounen series that I've seen. The staff working on this property clearly care a great deal because the quality of this production reminds me of howl solid the old Hajime no Ippo series was. It's ironic that Madhouse has produced the modern Ippo shows which look pretty rubbish and yet this show continues to shine, it's clear they've poured their attention here and not elsewhere.
Still, this isn't a BONES level production, just before people get any crazy ideas, it's just far above the standards being set by other titles.

Sweetness. Though expensive as heck. I'd still buy if I had the money, unless...
They may have recorded extra lines in the first place though that does sound unlikely.
Hmm... does that mean they're re-dubbing it or is there an uncut English dub that I'm not aware of?
Man does this show start off great then just takes a massive dive in the middle. I came into this show knowing absolutely nothing about it and really loved the first couple of episodes. Dio's absurd evilness in the beginning was awesome.
Kicking a dog and then throwing him in an oven.
Even the silly stealing the first kiss insult was really fun. But once that guy with the top hat and Speedwagon enter the scene, it's no longer just a fight between two dudes. It's a fight between two dudes with the most intrusive and needless commentary every. I really don't need a play by play of everything that Jojo does in a fight.
And of all the people who die in this arc, Speedwagon is the one who gets to live!! He's the most utterly useless guy I've ever seen and he refuses to shut the fuck up
. The ending does kind of redeem itself from the really bad middle, but please tell me that future fights aren't directed like the one between Jojo and the two knights. This show is really paper thin, but all I'm really asking for is more over the top evilness a la Dio, more fighting, and less fight commentary.

Part 2 is better in every way. Part 1 is just groundwork, Hokuto no Ken with vampires basically. Part 2 is also groundwork but it Stands on it's own without actually having Stands
And how can you hate Fastcart

Sakura is the queen of cuteness ruling over many many pretenders to the throne.
It would have to be new because this is the uncut original series. The Cardcaptors dub was made to fit an edited hackjob and in some case missed entire episodes. They couldnt do that with this release. We would burn them at the stake.

I'll continue watching as I really love the art and people have always said that the first arc's the worst. I just really hope there's less play by play! The fight with the first knight was insufferable!
