Poor Blasty, couldn't even get an expensive BD release.
Blast of Tempest should of been on Bluray. I'll probably pick this up because the price seems reasonable.

That's a compliment! Shinkai was able to match his beautiful visuals to the story he was trying to tell in some really effective ways, when at past those two elements have been at odds with each other. It probably helps that there weren't any science fiction elements.
Some really great editing and use of music.

A backhanded compliment then!
Yes, Shinkai's films have always had excellent visuals, but it's the utilization of these visuals in service of the characterization and themes, and his use of symbolic imagery, which feels like the biggest step up from his previous works. In some ways it reminds me of the first twenty minutes of Wolf Children, although Shinkai still has a ways to go if he wants to reach Hosoda's level.

Gargantia 9-
DAT UROBUCHI HEALING TOUCH
That's because Urobochi only wrote episode 1 from the rest of the episodes.I was thinking before, Gargantia doesn't really feel like something Urobuchi would write, it was very simple and happy/relaxing, now it feels like a pretty good Urobuchi series (he totally has done this same thing before, lol), I expect the other half of the series to be quite different than first half now, excitement.
The smile on this girl

Do we know for sure he did 09? Can't source that.

Yes, but I was just trying to explain why the rest of the series hasn't felt like an Urobochi thing. He's probably responsible for the twist on this episode though.he's responsible for overall series composition, his influence on the story is pretty obvious, it's not about individual episodes.

All these Gargantia impressions are certainly sounding like hype. I'd better get around to watching that episode soon!
But first,
Futari wa Precure 22-26
"DotsukuZone"
Thanks, the sites I was looking at hadn't updated credits for 09 yet. So yeah, Urobochi probably had some input as series composer for this but not that much.now that I look, episode 9 screenplay is by Norimitsu Kaiho, he did episode 6 before too.

I thought the exposition was well handled, really. It was sure better than the type of exposition we got in Psycho-Pass that just involved two people sitting in a room and talking.[Gargantia] - 9
I hope you like 12 minutes of exposition.
If you can stomach that, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it quite a bit.
I saw this post before watching the episode, so I was actively looking for what it could be. At first I thought[Gargantia] - 9
Oh yes, I should also mention that this is another show this season with extremely overt Evangelion references. Who'd have thunk it?
Not a subtle reference either, it's a pretty iconic scene.
What the fuck is this shit?
How is Hachiman oblivious? His internal monologues make it pretty clear he knows how she feels.
Exposition has been present in anime far longer than Gen has been involved in writing it!I thought the exposition was well handled, really. It was sure better than the type of exposition we got in Psycho-Pass that just involved two people sitting in a room and talking.

Why are there little girls in my YGO?
And thank christ for that. Can you imagine if every instance of exposition in anime was inspired by Urobochi's work?Exposition has been present in anime far longer than Gen has been involved in writing it!
The Internet tells me that it's usually rendered "Dusk Zone" or "Dark Zone" in English, but come on, neither of those are nearly punny enough. DotsukuZone is right up there with Zakenna and Gomenna in the villainous-names-you-can't-take-seriously stakes.
(For the benefit of the Japanese-impaired, "zakenna" means "don't screw with me", "gomen na" means "I'm sorry~!", and "dotsuku zo!" means "Imma punch you!")

You know, the twist in this episode was obvious since before we even reached the half-way point. All the signs were pointing to it, and as soon as the logo for the video popped up on Ledo's view-screen I knew that the intertwined helix structures meant that humans and hideazure were mixed because that what it always means in science-fiction. Yet, in spite of all the evidence (including the human like babies earlier on) I still feel like the 'revelation' was delivered with some degree of impact. That's good stuff.
Surprised nobody has a made on gaming side about this yet.
Do you understand sexy cars now?
There actually hasn't been a zexal game yet i think
They kinda stopped making handheld yugioh games for some reason.
Why are there little girls in my YGO?
I guess nobody remembers Rebecca Hopkins
Rings a bell, but for whatever reason I thought she was around before that type of duel disc.
