Probably the best words to describe this whole episode and even the arc. I wonder what inspired the writer to even pen this story this way as it just came out messy and kind of baffling how it turned out and reached its conclusion. It also seems pretty unrealistic. I only liked one part but it was minor and could have honestly lasted much longer.

Why did he just simply never pose the question and take both options, have Saeki san come with him on his journey to the other side with Nakamura, isnt that the easiest and simplest solution than breaking down and collapsing because of an inability to be how both of them want. Saeki could have easily dragged him as well to save him from that really odd scene when he strangely makes that declaration that makes no sense.
This seems like an incredibly unusual thing to say about Super Mario 3D Land.
I was actually pretty disappointed by the unveil of the new Mario game. I was hoping for something...more. I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow to play the Wii U demos, and I plan to stand in line for this title first. So maybe I'll like it....Maybe....
Actually, I'm pretty sure "hona" is correct in this instance. Both are fairly common Kansai-ben words (honma meaning "really", "totally", "seriously", roughly equivalent to standard Japanese hontou, and hona meaning "well then", roughly equivalent to standard Japanese jaa) but listening to a few Kero-chan segments, it's "hona" that he seems to frequently use (including in his sign-off every episode, "hona na~!")

...but yeah, I guess if they really went all-out with any of these dialects, people would start having trouble understanding what the heck the characters were saying. Sadly Tokyo Japanese is the only Japanese everyone can be expected to understand =/

Well, I at least am hyped for Super Mario 3D World. Mario turning into a cat is possibly the greatest thing to happen in the history of ever (even if I would have preferred something closer to the Galaxy games from my 3D Mario team).
Those other two platformers, I honestly have no hype for. I've never loved Yoshi's Island as much as some people seem to, and don't have much faith that this one will live up to the original at any rate. And as for DKC...I tried Retro's last DKC game and didn't really enjoy it. Honestly I can't think of anything they could have been working on that I would have been less interested in.

A word of advice, I'd watch Madoka Magica before Utena. I haven't watched Utena myself, but I know that Madoka Magica is much shorter. Best to get that over with ASAP.
You deserve to watch something as amazing as Madoka Magica after suffering through Code Geass R2.
It intrigues me though, how does Madoka Magica compare to Utena? Both of them get a massive amount of praise here, but which one's better? From what I read on the Wikipedia article (without spoiling myself) they seem to have similar elements. I might check it out later. But in the meantime...

And so the princess gets kidnapped and the whole town is staying tuned to watch the match! She must have not read the anime contract that states that all fantasy princesses are to be kidnapped in some way or form sooner or later.

I don't know if you're referring to me calling R boring or saying R Chibiusa is bad, but R Chibiusa is the closest thing that Sailor Moon has to Porun.
...How could you possibly forget that? It's kinda a key element.
They're such different series, it's difficult to compare >.> I guess you could call them both unconventional takes on the magical girl genre, but even so... Utena is like four times the length and all about the gorgeous presentation, subtle themes and occasional over-the-top humour, whereas Madoka is much more straightforward and more about the tightly-paced storytelling and dark atmosphere. Both shows have the "gorgeous surreal visuals" card to play, I suppose, but even those are handled in very different ways.
I guess if I had to pick one it would be Madoka, but it feels pretty wrong making such a choice. I love them both too much.
Few things are as bad as s1 Artemis, and none of the main cast applies.

Great episode, Gareki's and Nai's outfits while cleaning was really stylish and then adding the sparkle effects there with the bunnies made it kind of cute of sorts. I liked. Solid and flashy episode otherwise and also highlighted that scythes can really make any character quite epic.

Gareki's bed scene at the end there after being bugged by Nai about where is home was funny and really touching especially when he was blushing so hard. He should just stay with his family there he and Yogi, and then Nai and Jiki

Honestly the best part of the episode was probably the silly mouth-noises they were making at the very beginning before the OP. Anyone who watched that and claims they didn't join in is clearly lying. (That or they were watching the episode in a public space...)
But that's not to say the rest of the episode wasn't hugely entertaining as usual. I think we can all identify with Yukari's valiant battle.
Oh god that was gorgeous. I do wish they'd actually given some information about the game we didn't already know from the original trailer, though. A name at least would have been nice...

I don't understand, but you said "sequel to one of the best platformers ever made." You could have only meant the Mario Galaxy games. Nothing will ever match its 3D goodness. NOTHING!

They're both really different shows so it's hard to directly compare. Even though they're both considered "magical girl" shows done in a novel way the approach to doing so is almost completely opposite. Utena is structured like one with a semi episodic duel of the week and rituals that are repeated to use stock footage but in a completely different setting. Madoka is set in an almost traditional magical girl world but told in one continuous non episodic arc with a couple of the expected tropes turned on their heads. So when the things that are similar between the shows are so tenuous then it's not really fair to say one is a better show than the other.
Disclaimer: These two shows and heartcatch are the only shows in the genre that I've seen from start to finish so who knows what I'm missing in what makes a show mahou shoujo or not.

Console launches up through around the Gamecube could have pretty good launches with some good software. I can't think of a single good one since then, though. So, it's not a fluke, but it's more indicative of a completely different era.
Utena's leagues better than Madoka.

Night on the Galactic Railroad
Didn't expect a movie that could both be about
and yet could also be completely heartwarming. Blame the cats, I suppose. The anthropomorphic cats really are a great conceit, because they get you to ignore the clear historical time/place setting and focus instead on the (paradoxically) purely human story lying underneath.
The slow and meditative pace was welcome. As was the imaginative designs of the galactic landscape. It seems as if the absences in Giovanni's life (absence of father, of money,
) is the wellspring of his imagination. Like how the first half of the film emphasizes his privation but the dreamscape sequences contain abundance (apples, fields of corn, swan candy, walnuts) to compensate. Or how the teacher's astronomy lesson that he doesn't pay attention to at the beginning becomes the backdrop of his journey. The movie frames the ride as a dream but it felt more divine and otherworldly to me, like Giovanni was experiencing the afterlife. That a kid's film could evoke emotion without resorting to mawkishness is admirable to say the least.
The somewhat dated animation was no hindrance. There were plenty of compensatory artistic touches like the early Netherlandish-style architecture in Giovanni's town and the surreal religious imagery during the train ride. Excellent, highly recommended film. I v. much preferred this over Gauche the Cellist as the definitive Miyazawa adaptation.
