That map is inaccurate. It has WI above Ohio, which is Wisconsin. It should be MI for Michigan.

Im probably not the first to point this out, but I felt I needed to say something.

I was just about to point out that my state is missing. I'm not sure what you anime people have against Michigan. Trying to erase our existence altogether.

Hair service galore! For those with a hair fetish, this must be like a shot of heroine to the veins. Oh, and they finally started the fighting, though it only lasted a few seconds.

I think there's also some otaku-tropes in terms of the writing, or something.

Having played through the game, I can speak to this a little bit.

There's nothing there people haven't seen before in some fashion. A perverted old dude, some tsundere stuff etc. It was written by Naotaka Hayashi of Steins;Gate fame, so it's not too surprising.

That being said, the characters have a lot of depth and some really great narrative arcs in the game.

Darker than Black: Gaiden 4 (END)

The ending to that was about as confusing and dumb as I thought it would be. And now I'm finally done with the Darker than Black series.

Season 1 was a pretty decent action show with a nice soundtrack and a likable cast of characters that wasn't afraid to be lighthearted and fun at times. While that's all well and good, the show felt like it didn't have any idea where it was going a lot of the time, and some of these arcs felt like they were progressing the plot either not at all or very little. Also the technobabble was pretty insufferable at times and may require a rewatch in the near future.

Season 2 was like season 1 except mediocre/bad, basically. The things it had going for it were Suou, that one lesbian couple, and UNTZ while that ending was one of the stupidest things I've ever had the displeasure of viewing and I wish I could forget about it soon.

Sandwich stealing, clothes ripping fun. Why weren't my Christmas parties like that? :(

Yui and Ui win the award for most adorable sister duo. Highlight of the episode was when Nodoka walked in on Sawa-chan and Mio. Soogood.jpg

So I guess we're gonna do the each pretty boy idol gets an episode to themselves.

Pretty fun, the show is basically running on silly hijinks. It is quite different of how less involved fish eye moe is being expect as basically what activates the RESOLVE at the end of each idol's route. I did like Shou's song as well and that's really why we're all watching the show anyway.

I am amused at how much Wakamoto is hamming it up and how much they are showing his hamming-ness in the former principal's antics as well.

Aura, actually. Unless you're calling her an AI which would also be correct.
It has a pretty legendary OP, too! Goosebumps.

When I speak about .hack, I'm normally referring to all of project .hack and the .hack conglomerate. SIGN isn't what I use as a shining example for the story telling within the franchise (notably better than SAO still), I normally will go to either game series for that (primarily the first). Though, Quantum itself is leagues better than SAO on it's worst day.

I meant to write AI lol.

Definitely was when I watched it as a kid. Maybe I'd think better of it now. I think I mostly just found it confusing back then.

It's slow, particularly in the first half, but I don't think it's boring. But it is a very talky show, and I can see how that style and pacing might not work for some people. There's a lot of suspense and questions about what exactly is up with certain things, and I felt like that made it a really exciting show to watch and try and figure out what was going on.

This episode kind of just stinks. This is just a really poor way to introduce in elements of the series, and the mask of gaining information through very flat exposition is just boring. There's not a lot of good tension here, and most of the time people just sort of stand around. While the show goes out of its way to explain the smallest and most obvious details it avoids others that are more crucial and should have some impact on the plot. This guy is just sitting off in a corner without food or water and he's never really hungry, thirsty, or tired. What is the passage of time like? There is a lack of basic human emotion or elements that also carries itself over into the incredibly lame action scenes where physics don't have as much of an impact as they should. Positioning, orientation, and even basic movement are all illogical and sort of skipped over just so the action scenes can get the job done in the shortest amount of time possible.

The show just does a terrible job of really communicating all of its elements. The vastness of the ocean, the density of these garbage heap ships, none of these things are really delivered in a readable way. It doesn't really help that the story progression is so poor, forced, and devoid of logic.

The only standout thing about this show is its communication through language barrier aspect. I hope they do more with that in the future.

Yea episode 6 handled the backstory in probably the worst way possible. The whole episode feels really contrived.

Edit: Holy shit at the Mexican Gundam called Tequila. I want an Irish Gundam called Whisky.

There's a long interview here with director Tomohiko Ito, and skimming a machine translation, it looks like the first half is largely about SAO, with the latter half covering a variety of topics, including just a few questions on Silver Spoon at the end. If anyone could help translate any interesting quotes/excerpts, I would be grateful.

Looking ahead to the future, manga series Gingitsune (Silver Fox) will be getting a TV anime adaptation.
When her mother passed away at a young age, Makoto Saeki inherited the power to see the fox spirit Gintaro, one of the gods’ agents that have been protecting the small Inari temple since the Edo era. Although they have their differences, Makoto, with the aid of Gintaro’s power, helps the people of their community deal and solve their problems.

Sounds pleasant enough.

She's such a better artist than me, I'm envious.

This episode.. this episode!!! Sawa-chan is so awesome, I wish I had a teacher like that in high school. :(
The one thing that the manga has over the anime, for you at least, is that they actually show a glimpse of Mugi's yuri fantasies she's thinking up.

That's one tasty looking ricebowl. Poor Mio. :lol

The whole sumo impression bit with Yui and Ritsu was pretty great too.

I really like this episode, maybe because it has a lot to do with Mio.
One thing I don't get about that in retrospect is...why did Mio just keep kneeling there with her ass out to the audience? Like, it was a whole few seconds.

Maybe I'm misremembering. I'm feeling out of it right now.
She fell over pretty hard, not to mention panicking can make you freeze up.
I think there's also some otaku-tropes in terms of the writing, or something.
But how many people in gaming side have actually played the game to know that?

I figured you'd enjoy the scene with Mio, Sawako and Nodoka. I've started watching this episode every Christmas, I'm gonna make it a tradition.

Hope we get gundam fights and all of that soon though this two or so episode break has been alright and quite shocking especially hear.
That total character change for Lacus, huge improvement there even if it felt like she became someone completely new. What are and were her objectives (well other than trying to arrange for Ahtrun and Kira to make up and what not)). Fugitive, treason, giving the Gundam away, and giving Kira a mission where hes aligned with neither Earth nor ZAFT, and worst, now everyone on Archangel could face execution if they return? Shes causing so much, and then within Zaft whats going on, multiple people pulling strings?

Hyped to see what happens in Panama, and what Justice can do.

To be honest, I wanted to say that Lacus' goal is world domination for herself. She picks her ace, equips him with the best weapon in the world, and chains him to her with love, then sets him out to royally ruin the rest of the world's plans. Given that Lacus never actually sits on any thrones, though, I guess she is actually altruistic in her designs and wants legit peace for the universe or something.

Lacus still is better than 99 percent of the characters introduced in Destiny, 00, and AGE.

So Sousuke pouts it up a little (after all, he just finished one very bad mission and a second in which something terrible nearly happened to one of his best friends.) and he and Kaname fight. We also see that Kalinin has no qualms dehumanizing Gauron on multiple occasions. Kurz gets an awesome punch on Sousuke, and the two ultimately team up to save the day after Gauron pulls one hell of a subjacking.

Asuna can look after herself she proved that in the show, just that the shitty plot didn't let her. That was one of, if not the only good point about her.

Asuna is completely helpless outside of a videogame.
Her whole reason to exist is for Kirito to save her.

So we are about to see, after much hubbub, the Zeta Gundam. Of course, I'd like to remind you all that Nina Purpleton designed three Gundams on her own, plus the prototype Alex Gundam, meaning that the Zeta Gundam is really more like the seventh Gundam to exist in the UC timeline. And this one without nuclear weapons!

Stardust Memory was a truly, truly terrible show.

Anyway, Kamile is almost learning a valuable lesson from Emma about how he is an absolute dork when Fa comes along, all impressed because Kamile is suddenly "manly". But the best part of this episode was Bright Noa PUNCHING THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF THREE MEN. On the bridge. You could practically see them going through puberty.
