No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
This is definitely the type of show that doesn’t need a season 2. That being said, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I just hope it doesn’t become predictable and rote.

Edit: Oh snap, they even say this is the final season. Okay, that makes me feel better. Sounds like they have a good idea on how to wrap up the story. I hope they don’t take too much of the mystique out of it, though.

Edit 2: Nope I’m dumb. Season 3 will be the final season in 2025. Still, seems like they have a way to end the story.

Good that they have an end goal in mind already and they're getting to do it, man it feels like forever since the show came out!

This fits well with the other thread about new seasons taking too long.
I'm sure it will be successful but I don't see it being as big of a hit as S1, it has been way too long (and the last third of S1 sucked)

i thought the show was way overhyped. It wasn't horrible but I was quite disappointed by the season finale.

The show was really fun up until (and including) the marbles game.
Afterwards it quickly fell apart. The ending was terrible on almost every front, from the plot to the final game to some of the new characters and the outcome of the main character.

Hoping Season 2 is as good. This is one of those shows that actually really lived up to the hype for me. I only started watching it after seeing the rave reviews and I would say it impacted me even more so than I expected. Amazing show.

I have a feeling it wont live up to the first ones hype.
Quite an easy bet to make - the first one was not only compelling TV, but it was propelled by a captive audience who were living through a pandemic! For Netflix, media who needed something to talk about, and people who needed something new to watch, Squid Game ticked everyone's boxes. Even if the new series is excellent, I'm not sure you could expect a similar result.

Squid Game wasn’t perfect, it did have that brother plot line that seemingly went nowhere.

Less of that and more games focused could make season 2 a better rewatch.

Only thing I'm a bit off about.
I guess the first game is the same, but I assume the rest of the games are gonna be different. Cause the games in S1 was done on purpose to give the old man his nostalgia feels and geared towards him. The red light/green light I can take because its a good culling game to start off.

I'm in though, Korea jdrama is killing it on netflix.

Anyone tried to watch that american reality tv show copying the Squid Game stuff? So bad.

You should check out the Dub on the Korean cooking show Netflix has. made it better.
Culinary Class Wars? I watched the first two episodes of that, made me want to up my cooking skills lmao.

I can't watch anything dubbed. Whether it's Korean, French, German, Japanese, I have to watch it in the original language. But I get that watching shows and relying on subtitles can be frustrating for some.

The trailer for this didn't really sell the show to an audience that watched the first season.

Like it seems like the story they're trying to push is "dude is in Squid Game again, he's trying to warn people to stop but they just won't listen to him"... but it didn't feel desperate enough.

And if we're just going to get the exact same games than the only way we're going to be shocked and awed is if they switch up the rules to fuck with the protagonist, or if we actually form connections with the chaffe that's getting murdered.

I'll watch it...the first was one fun enough to give this a shot, but that trailer reeks of "I don't know....just make more of the first one" to me.

They released this character poster recently and that's the point that finally killed my interest, after the trailers already had been lackluster. This does not look like a line up from a show that I would want to watch.

Sorry, everyone.
Season 2 of Squid Game has already been canceled by ResetEra.
I know, I know, I was looking forward to it, too..
but its been decreed.

It's been too long for me to have any interest in it. Probably pass.

Not sure why series take so long between seasons now.

I think the show overall good. Start is slow but reasonable trying to catch ppl up to speed. as a korean american…Korean dramas have always been about knowing more about character persona, interpersonal relationship, and culture..and they put them there. Park gyu young ..i wish i could find someone like her..sigh

I'm on the second episode, and the start is so slow. But it's the second season, so of course they need to start logically. But I'm looking forward for the game to start to see how it's going to be.
I didn't have any high expectations, because somethimes, when the first season is a fire, the next can be not that good

Ok I will start tonight. Dubbed.

Ban this person.

Anyway, binged watched the whole 7 episodes, it's pretty good as expected, ofc you will most likely expect whats going to go down, but that doesnt change the fact that you get attached to some characters and yeah until season 3 or part 3 or whatever they call it we will have to wait, since small spoilers, it's doesnt end like the 1st season, they pretty much cut a season in half which is fucking BS so yeah, enjoy the cliffhanger. Anyway acting was great, the trans character is well written or at the very least way better than western media even if you will roll your eyes since they couldnt help themselves with DEI shit even in a SK show and I can tell this is netflix's hand. Perhaps the fact that they split it in half was why the creator is annoyed and stressed. Anyway, I can already tell how its going to end, wish they made it less predictable.

I appreciate it starting slow, cause I don't recognize the faces of any of these characters, even the returning ones lol

I watched the first two episodes. It’s interesting how they are building upon last season. IMO it would have been predictable had they just gone ahead with the next round of games without explaining what happened to the survivors of the first season. I came across IGN’s review on social media.
Without reading too much into what they said, their comments come off like they wanted S2 to jump to the games without explaining or exploring the story of S1.
