I've almost got enough zen for the fleet modules for the fleet nebula class. This might sound noobish, but our starbase is high enough level foe me to get the fleet modules and get the ship, right?
Yeah, I bought myself a Fleet Nebula a while back. Personally I'd buy Fleet Modules with Energy Credits instead.
Tell you what... if I buy you a Fleet Module with Energy Credits, would you convert the Zen cost to Dilithium and put that in to the Fleet Spire upgrade?
Sure. They're like 9,000,000 credits though.
Guys, something's wrong. My new fleet vessel hasn't made me invulnerable! Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that every piece of equipment I have is either a drop or a quest reward. Any suggestions on what equipment/weapons I should buy next now that I'm not holding back dilithium anymore?
Really depends on what kind of build you're going. Romulan and Borg stuff are pretty safe bets if you're unsure and can easily branch around once you figure out your build.
Which build makes my ship like a planet killer from The Doomsday Machine?
Are you going cannons? Arrays? Projectile only? Carrier? Are you a Tac/Engy/Sci? I'm not a build specialist but it can help some people here that might know what you have to work with.

Thanks for the tips all. Definitely working toward that cutting beam.
Yeah, if you play enough elite STF's you'll probably notice a lot of people run the cutting beam. If there's a small laser, it's the cutting beam. The 360 antiproton beam you get from one of them solanae missions is also good. Reason why a lot of people run those two 360 beams is because they are good weapons that provide a full 360 arc, doesn't matter what type it is, just the fact it's a good weapon with a 360 arc lol.
As a tac, I'm guessing you're running escorts, so a ton of them roll heavy cannons. You're either going Plasma or Antiproton, depending on how you want to deal damage. Going romulan nets you some rather crazy torpedos in the process (Experimental Romulan Plasma Torpedo. If you've seen people fire those massive green torpedo chains, thats the romulan torpedo) while going Antiproton gets you quite a few new options as well. (I think the Undine stuff are antiproton). Main thing to know those is that in a build, you MUST have all your main weapon types the same. Plasma, Phaser, Disrupter, etc. Stick to one type. That way you get consoles to buff that type's damage. It's fine if you're not buffing up the 360 beams, an unbuffed 360 beam is more productive than a rear weapon that isn't firing.
(I roll an engy in a free obelisk carrier and gets 1st-3rd in Elite Crystalline Entity runs so I hope I do have some useful insight on builds lol)
I just bought a fleet nebula, so that's my main right now. Going plasma since I already had some plasma weapons. Thanks for the help. Btw, I have 500 dyson marks from completing that reputation line. Any of that equipment worth getting?
Don't you get ticked when people continue to attack the Entity while it's absorbing?
Don't you get ticked when people continue to attack the Entity while it's absorbing?
I don't care because like all attacks, it has a 10km range. I just move outside there while absorbing and those who keep shotting end up dead when he counterattacks.
Also, Fleet Embassy Science consoles not only boost plasma damage, but will add a damage plasma proc to your cutting beam along with either some threat reduction and stat boosting. Can help make your gravity wells and other things hit harder.
Are fleet assignments better than normal ones?
If I get more than one will the effects stack? What do you do about the extra threat generation? Just live with it?
There are ones with threat reduction! They also do stack. However only the skill bonuses, threat reduction/increase, and plasma damage will stack. You unfortunately will not get say two chances for plasma procs.
WOOHOO!
What exactly are the benefits of having all these things? Starbase, Spire, etc.
Things get unlocked in the facilities, NPC's get more functions, shops sell more, new stuff ot buy, things like that. Basically the fleet is the key to getting some VERY POWERFUL stuff.
Are there any gifts that are given as rewards for unlocking these things? Or is it all stuff that we still have to buy.
Also, did fleet members purchase all those mirror universe ships that are in the fleet bank?
Are there any foundry missions that take place mostly or complately on ships? Any foundry missions with particularly good/challenging space battles?
Feel silly to ask these questions, but the game isn't so great at explaining these things.
Episode replays coming up. Some mission rewards and lobi crystals. Anyone excited for it?
I might be able to finally get my Tholian Carrier...or Adv. Obelisk...Still debating.
I'm thinking of trying this out. How long does each season take to play through (how many episodes per season)?
Do a lot of people still play this? Will I need to drop money into the game?
Depends on you really, seasons are more divided by when they make changes/add content so you're not really playing by season. However because we're at Season 9, that means there has been more or less 9 major content updates/balances/changes to the game so for you since you're starting it's probably a good time to join since all this stuff will be new for you and no need to readjust to the new content. Game population is solid although there's no real need to find groups until later as a lot of the story stuff is level scaled.
You don't even have to drop a single penny on the game, you can get the cash shop currency in-game through trading in refined dilithium, which is obtained normally in the game but can only obtain so much each day. So with time you can purchase anything you want. Of course you can drop cash if you want to speed things up but it's really unnecessary. Max lvl is lvl 50 and there is plenty of end-game content now.
I was hoping that there would be "missions" I could play through similar to Star Trek TV episodes (I think I read somewhere that's how it works?). That seemed pretty reasonable for me to play casually through "complete" episodes in 40 min - 1 hour time spans.
Does it work like that? I've tried to research how the early game stuff works but the vast majority of information out there seems geared towards high level players. The few beginner's guides I found were written 4 years ago.
There are missions/quests that get you through the story and help you progress. They're called Episodes in the game and there's quite a few, each one having a specific story arc (Klingons, Borg, Dominion, etc) to it and several quests to go through to complete the episode. The quests themselves can take some time depending on how much story elements are involved. There are even player made ones if you're willing to experiment (Some are damn good too)
geez 9 gig patch download. Guess I'm not playing for a few hours =*(
Yeah, thats MMO's for you.
Anyways just holler if you need anything and if you want you can always join GAFleet. Doesn't matter if you pick Fed/KDF there's a GAFleet on both sides lol.
Hey guys just started playing this the other day. Is FleetGAF still active? Would really like to join if there is an opening spot
