Suffice to say, the Bespin DLC has left the team's hands and we're finally ready to start telling you about it. I will be very disappointed if my whole team doesn't gather around the carbon freezing chamber and all jump in at the same time.

Berserker & bacta are for cowards. The devs just keep adding scrubby shit to this game. First explosive shot & scan pulse, now bacta & berserker. I wouldn't be surprised to see more bullshit with the coming dlc
 
I've been using the same loadout since day one. Jumppack, Personal Shield, Thermal Detonator, Scout, and E-11.

In my hands the E-11 is a headshot machine so the Bacta armor and damage reduction of Berserker level 3 don't significantly hinder my killing potential.

Same. Unfortunately in game like cargo, it totally messes me up. Always have multiple enemies coming at me with bacta armor & berserker.

Looks like Dennis has been quite vocal on the forums today. Below is a copy/paste from this reddit post, so credit to that person for summarizing and linking to the statements.

He had this to say about lag:
The main reason behind lag is due to mixing players from distanced regions. Tweaks made to matchmaking filters and other "under the hood" changes are done on the server, which means these changes are constantly updated. We're always tracking latency and lag issues across all our regions and trying to perfect the formula of time spent looking for games versus regions negatively impacting one another's network latency. We're definitely listening to feedback on this matter and would urge to also include your platform and region, as that will only help us improving the formula for your area.

He also commented more about revealing information and the upcoming livestream:

And finally, regarding buffs to Boba's flamethrower and rocket:
Hey guys, we're definitely hearing you regarding Boba's current power level. While we don't want to end up in a situation a few months back when Boba was rocket-sniping from across the map, we agree that he is currently struggling against the rest of the hero lineup.

Expect improvements made to his Flamethrower with the Bespin update. While we still feel he should be fairly low health due to his superior mobility, you will definitely see a change to his behavior in close quarters, especially if he gets the jump on you.
We're also making his wrist launcher rocket more effective in hitting enemies at medium range.

Additional info from Dennis, this time about team balancing:
Hey guys, we're definitely hearing you regarding the team balance in the game. For the Outer Rim patch, we introduced Auto Balancing, which pretty much ensured teams would get balanced number wise (equal amount of players on the teams) at the start of each round. We designed the system to be as non-intrusive as possible, to basically try to move as few people as possible between teams and instead trust in our initial skill calculations when players would join the game.

That being said, we've heard you loud and clear that you're still finding "hopeless" servers where one team is overwhelming the other round after round, where clearly the system is not intrusive enough. So for the Bespin patch, we will be introducing Team Shuffle as part of the Auto Balancing, where upon each map change teams will be scrambled.

So to summarize:
Each round = Auto balance teams as non-intrusively as possible, to ensure teams have even amount of players. This is to allow losing teams to take revenge in modes such as Walker Assault.

Each map switch = Scramble teams

Further info, this time about adding custom map rotation into private matches:
We're definitely hearing you. In a future patch, we'll be introducing ways to build your own custom map rotations for private matches, for players who want to play map A, B, D and E but definitely not C. We'll have more info on this during the reveal.
Not sure if this will make the Bespin patch or not. He say it's coming in a "future patch" but then says there'll be more info in the reveal. But it'll be coming at some point!

He's also elaborated on fixes coming to HvV, as well as being able to select specific modes for private matches:
We're definitely hearing you. Included in the Bespin patch will be fixes to Heroes vs Villains, where sometimes players who failed to pick heroes in time for the round to start were forced to play as soldiers instead. As added insult to injury, they were sadly then excluded from being picked as heroes for the rest of the match. All of this was of course unintended and will be fixed. As long as there are enough players on the server to fill out the hero slots, they will be filled.

We're also adding ways for players who only want to play a specific mode from a DLC rotation to do so (Extraction only, for example) or combine main game mode modes with maps from the DLCs (for example, Heroes vs Villains on Outer Rim, plus your favorite maps from the main game). This will be available for private matches.
I am hopeful that we will get this in for the Bespin patch, but I cannot confirm this just yet.

Bit of info on the upcoming changes to Explosive Shot:
We've got some tweaks to Explosive Shot coming. Skilled players will still be able to make great use of it, but we feel that it's a little bit too effective "out of the box" - especially against heroes.
Prossibly not coming with the Bespin patch, but he added this about private matches:
More options to tailor your Private Matches is something we're definitely looking to add.
 
Why don't they up the tickrate to 45hz like BF4 for smaller modes? Also, why aren't they removing the babby cards?

Elzar? Care to give any official thoughts?

Those private match buffs need to be implemented on the public side.

Team scramble should be interesting.

Buff to Boba is good.

Nerf to explosive shot is great.

Finally!!! This is huge for all modes of BF!

I mean, it still sounds like it's not real team balancing, but at least if it's a true scramble you'll have a random chance of your team not sucking balls. Hopefully this will reduce the behavior of better players dropping out of servers with bad teams and finding a different server, which further exacerbates an already bad situation. Hopefully this will also stop the death spiral that usually happens to servers with imbalanced teams.

Team Scramble at least sounds potentially promising. Thank god I got all of the wins I needed (other than Hero Hunt) before that was implemented though, in most of the shit modes I would just eventually wind up with a god-tier squad and get 8+ wins in a row. Was hoping for Hero Hunt rebalancing news or something though :(

On an unrelated note I was on Wave 12 and ~60 minutes into Master Survival on Tatooine trying to do the ledge cheese and an AT-ST somehow fell off the cliff on top of me and killed me. Fucking rad.
 
Man I could write an essay on how disappointed I am with Walker Assault. It's just super linear and scripted and yet still not as easy to get in to as BF rush is, it's just... ugh.

- walkers are on rails instead of being actual vehicles
- y wings aren't pilotable
- vehicles on the map are hard to find tokens instead of the casual-friendly Battlefield system of just being able to spawn in them and also ya know... actually being able to drive a vehicle that you can see
- map design is TOO open, to the point where you get shot from 50 different sides and it's no fun
- can barely damage the at-at's except for the aforementioned super scripted y-wing thing

then there's supremacy which is basically conquest or chainlink but even worse and a huge meatgrinder clusterfuck, not even worth detailing my thoughts on that shitshow of a mode

oh also it's clear they put little to no effort in to the paltry amount of single-player content that is in the game, that stuff is no fun x 100


I don't know why I keep trying to force myself to like this game

I'm about to hit 10 hours in Fighter Squadron and I can't get a SINGLE Slave I kill to save my life for the trophy. Have killed the Millenium Falcon probably at least 20-30 times. I extra enjoy how ramming the Falcon as Slave I counts as a Falcon kill, but ramming the Slave I with the Falcon doesn't, even if you're boosting with shields up. FFS

Between this, 10 Hero Hunt wins and the Master stuff on Survival about to break a controller over here.

Has there been a huge influx of noobs lately?
I was really struggling to get good results the last couple of weeks, but the last few days I'm tearing it up like a madman.
Or could it be the fact that I switched to the good old DLT-19 (which I never used since the beta and is actually pretty amazing to play with)?

It's a rather small team working on the DLCs so I guess that's why it's taking some time.

Yeah, hopefully we will get something of substance at some point. What worries me with the small team is the patching. There has been some real issues for awhile now and it seems like they are timing patches with releases, implementing a hotfix if something in the release is super broken, then maybe one more patch before the next release.

I hope the accompanying Bespin patch fixes some of the bigger offenders, introduces minimal issues, and new weapons/cards are fairly balanced.

They've said that one of the "maps" will be for fighter squadron, so I'm really hoping they buff the ties somehow, like actually make the boost worthwhile (it should escape lock-on at the very least). I'd love a more involved mode, additional ships etc, but they've done nothing with it so far. I haven't touched the game for a month.

The offline stuff... A while ago things looked promising but their silence doesn't bode well. Weren't we supposed to get more offline stuff before the Bespin update?

While I agree walkers on rails are a good thing if that's the actual objective, I'd argue it would be better to have them be off-rails and just have the objective be the uplinks instead. Regardless, that ignores all my other complaints and writes them off as being positives. I'll concede the one you decided to pick was probably my weakest argument though. Three more things I forgot.

- speeder bikes have the durability of wet paper
- fighter squadron is still slanted towards a rebel win
- r2 spam is the way to go for most saber heroes

Played the main game over 60 or so hours and enjoyed it. I hope they give us a discount on the season pass. Dont want to pay 50 dollars :(
