Harrison Ford injured while filming new star wars movie.

Harrison Ford has been airlifted to hospital after a hydraulic door fell on him while he was filming the new Star Wars movie at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

The 71-year-old suffered a suspected broken ankle in the accident, which happened on the M Stage at the studios, close to his character Han Solo's spaceship the Millennium Falcon. He was helicoptered to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital, which has a trauma unit specialising in fractures.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “We were called to Pinewood studios at 5.05pm after reports of a 71-year-old man being injured by a door.”

It is unclear how long it will take Mr Ford to recover, but a spokesman for the movie, Star Wars: Episode VII, insisted that the accident would not delay the release of the film.

The spokesman said: “Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”

As remnants of the Empire still threaten Galactic peace, Han and Leia Solo along with their daughter and Chewbacca go on a desperate search for their old friend, Luke Skywalker. Along the way, they meet a pirate who knows more than he let's on, a boy whose affinity to the force reminds them of the past...and new enemies that want to destroy the only hope the galaxy has left.

I'm thinking controlled leak to go along with the news of a delay to 2016. AICN hinted at this plot just today in the Ford article, can't be coincidence.

Since I can't make threads, maybe somebody should? Could be thread worthy.

Well, I haven't read this book so I don't know if there's more context, but this may just be how Mark Hamill saw it. After all, this is what Anakin looked like in RotJ:

Anakin was an inhabitant of Tatooine so this could be why he wears something similar to old Ben. Yoda's clothes is a bit different.

Sure. But it's very much open to interpretation. Nothing on the screen before Ep1 explicitly told us what a Jedi uniform might have been like, and something that's part of the actor's 'method' (even if the director told it to him!) is not really part of the story for the purposes of interpretation.

Honestly, I find the idea of a force-wielding army/religion/police force dressed like jack booted ninjas a little more scary than I think Lucas ever really wanted the Jedi to seem. It could be it was his intent until he actually thought what a few hundred people in Luke's RotJ costume would actually look like.

Some interesting tidbits from kevin smith's visit:
it is looking like the empire is still around and we will have full blown stormtrooper, star destroyer and tie fighter action.

If there is one filmmaker who is not hiding his excitement for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII, it’s Kevin Smith. The Clerks director is currently in the UK touring animated film Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie along with Jason Mewes and his podcast Hollywood Babble-On with Ralph Garman. Before the show last night in London however, Kevin Smith was invited to the set of Star Wars Episode VII, the details of which he spoke about before the Hollywood Babble-On show.

Smith noted that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement so he couldn’t talk any specifics, but he did say that he saw costumes, characters and sets that took him back to his childhood.

“They had a sign at on the stage – I can’t even say which stage – which had the Imperial Starship logo and it said, ‘loose lips sink starships”.

“I’m really excited and you know, people keep saying that I liked the last trilogy and I did. I liked 1, 2 and 3. But I liked them as an adult, when I watched them they didn’t give me the same feeling I had when I was seven watching them for the first time and that’s fine. This movie though… Dude, I cried four times. The seven year old in me came. [J.J] has f*cking captured it, man. He has nailed it.”

Due to the non-disclosure agreement, Smith couldn’t say much more but he gave his co-host Ralph Garman a pad with some words to read out which he then nodded to in agreement. When asked, “did you see Stormtroopers?”, Smith nodded his head with the biggest smile on his face.

Smith also confirmed lightsabres and blasters, but that was pretty much a given

IF these crop of films turn out to be decent, does anyone think that a subconscious and deliberate form of revisionism will occur where fans will begin to omit the prequels out of their memories? I could see simple fan edits cropping up where the title cards for episodes iv-ix could end up becoming episodes i-vi. Does anyone know if Abrams intends on explicitly acknowledging characters and plots from the prequels, or do you think he'll mainly stick with the vague outlines that were referred to in the classic trilogy? Also, any news when the original trilogy will be released on the home market?

They recognize the light saber as a Jedi relic and decide to return it to the proper people.
Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler. I'll leave it. Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.
So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems...

That sounds.... terrible. Hopefully this rumor is b.s.

Yeah, posted that when it was new(ish) but seems like it has since been at least partially denied/contradicted. I know that if they did roll with a "Luke and Han haven't seen each other in 30 years" plot, I will flip tables."

Love the dirty old man beard Hamill is rocking though.
