Watch out because Star Wars Episode I: Racer has now been re-released! Check out 13 minutes of Switch gameplay from this beloved retro racer.

couldn't they at least redraw the HUD? ... I guess we get so many ports of old games, this is par for the course, thankfully they did not add micro-transactions? did they?

The game is good. And that is about it.
Zero effort.

But again worth it as there is nothing as good as it.

Besides that last wipeout game 🙃

Episode 1: Racer the only Dreamcast game published by EA in just one small territory due to distribution/licensing agreements. Trufax.

I beasted this game with Dud Bolt on N64.

I've had the Steam port for about a year now. I remember struggling to get it running. Maybe they've fixed it since.

I think Saturn's best 2D games aged quite nicely. I've also thought a lot of the PS1 and N64 games aged very, very poorly. This reinforces that belief.

This, together with Re-Volt (best Mario Kart clone ever!) and maybe Rollcage were really underrated action racing games, IMHO.

I guess they're aiming to get nostalgia purchases out of millenials who played this as a kid?

It was fun in 1999.

Yeah remake this! Or just any high speed racer with modern engine / graphics. F zero, wipeout, this. SOMETHING.

That frame rate on this game is glorious
