Many bugs?

I played through the game at launch, I'm sure there are bugs because all software has them, but I didn't experience anything crazy; the only one I can remember was reloading a save in a base and it reset all the enemies.

I had two instances of the screen freezing, but exiting and reloading solved it.

Everything has been smooth since.

Ok for you the game at launch was fine. Good I guess.

Going to play this again this summer I think since andor is giving me the itch. With all the patches it should be good now.

Dominated my weekend and started the first DLC. Man I forgot that when you finally get into the swing of things and have good rep with all of the brokers, the loop of running contracts (and dicking over syndicates) back and forth for easy creds and gun/ship parts becomes straight crack.

The big big disappointment to me it's the PSSR implementation at 60 fps. The raytracing artifacts are incredibly annoying at 60 fps in the first planet, the only way to have a pristine IQ on Pro it's 30 fps mode; even 40 fps it's still not enough stable in the worst areas. They promised to fix it at the time but honestly after AC Shadows I'd expected something like that. Hope Sony will find a way to force PSSR2 via firmware in 2026 at this point doubt Ubisoft will care anymore about this game.

I'm not sure to understand what have said of so funny...

I planned on getting this at some point, but after riding that Andor high super hard you're REALLY tempting me to get it sooner than I though Chuck Berry Chuck Berry lol.

Currently been riding the Battlefront 2 wave as it's getting more and more attention lately.

Really? Is there a reason for this? 😮
Yeah man, it's sick! Steam CCU has been at 10K+ recently. I think people are riding the Andor high, really. But who knows, could be with the Revenge of the Sith rerelease, the Fortnite stuff, etc. There's a lot of attention on the IP right now. But there's also a lot of players that just want Battlefront 3. So they're wanting to give it more attention in hopes that it catches the eye of studios/higher ups. 🤸‍♂️

I thought the campaign actually wasn't too bad. It was simply cool just to be in that universe shooting those guns from a first person view. Plus, the game is fucking gorgeous still.

That's cool to see it getting some fresh attention. It also shows people still want your everyday uncomplicated PvP.

Same here! The loot boxes were the worst thing that happened to that game, but it got better and better with time. Yeah, it still looks and sounds insane.

Agreed! Exactly! I hate that lately when we mention multiplayer people automatically go to GaaS, extraction shooters, etc. There's plenty of proof out there that people continue to love and miss PvP and adjacent/similar modes.

I am shocked at the price though of this game, for a digital version, it's near enough the same level as getting Mario Kart for the Switch 2! I thought there maybe a discount running somewhere....I felt a bit more comfortable playing this game, than Jedi Survivor, which I deleted last-week as I didn't feel the force in going further with it....

well the game is finally over, with all its DLCs and most of the side quests (almost).

nix, nd-5 and kay are a great trio and whenever they had a interaction with each other it made me smile. couldn't help it. when a game evokes these feelings, i can't help but be biased towards liking that game more

atmosphere of the towns and the amount of NPCs and detailed animations they have is just astounding. they really have crafted an incredibly immerse star wars that I could just wander around, walk around and not be bored. it just feels so natural. arcade game, the table game, and so on. really added a lot to the world. i really enjoyed treasure hunting mechanic as well. reputation system was a great motivation to do contracts, earn money, maybe get some crucial parts to improve your chances of survival... trying to survive... but surviving isn't enough, as ND-5 would put it. you need something more... and that's friendship.

gameplay... well it was simple, basic and didn't get in the way (if it was worse at launch or something, no idea then). i actually had fun clearing levels as kay and nix are really powerful in stealth and you have lots of tool you can use to spice things up and at times it really felt cool doing some stealth things. I actually enjoyed the ship combat too funny enough, probably because I really liked the way ship upgrades were designed. instead of straightforward things like 20% damage increase or something, you get different abilities you can use with your ship to increase your power against multiple enemies in the space. same goes for most of the speeder upgrades. ultimately i never felt like I was forced to go after upgrades. instead I just wanted to do them naturally because I just liked exploring... and when that happens... the gameplay experience, aside from the actual gameplay mechanics, becomes a solid 9/10

and story was decent enough for me to push forwards. i just can't say it was bad or anything really. maybe it was to my liking. i will call it average. if this was a movie or something i would give it a 6.5/10 score or something.

as such i'm giving the game a 8/10 overall. only bad thing I can say about it is that it just doesn't have that much of a powerful story and Kay's character development is really not that great. i also feel like the ending is a bit rushed but it is better than having no proper culmination (see ac shadows)

as a final bonus

Over 50 hours of gameplay here. Played since day 1 (or should I say say gremlin day since users were showing those renders of Kay where she indeed looked gremlin related).

I really enjoyed the updates which variously enabled being able to go hot and fire weapons at any time during stealth sequences and not get an arrested screen, being able holster heavier weapons at any time, and being able to hip fire while on the speeder.

I would still like certain changes that i don't expect to ever get: to steal others speeders, be able to open fire anywhere in a city even as I would be an outlaw as a result, and stealing or at least boarding and looting other ships like imperial shuttles. Maybe even damaging AT-STs and lambda class shuttles enough to cause a spectacular explosion.

But those wish list items are just gravy. As previously stated up thread, the Star wars atmosphere and world design really shines through. An open world Tattooine where I can see the old Skywalker farm? And visit Toshi Station? And visit Jabba's Palace? AND each world has a unique biome with strong lore links to other Star wars settings? The clone wars factory and lore accurate history and leftover droid parts on Akiva really helped ground this game as both "current day" original trilogy and "what happens next" prequel trilogy successor setting. A delicate balance that is hard to do, but they pulled it off.

This game is just a treat to explore. Someone else said the gameplay is a mix of uncharted and Far Cry, I can't say because I've played neither (I don't do M rated games), but I enjoyed the mission and exploration gameplay loop.

I am about to infiltrate the Imperial Forward Base on Toshara in my imperial outfit, aiding me in social engineering my way onto the base and blending in...until it is time to drone strike the stormtroopers with Nix my bestest grenadier ever. Whoever did the anime eyes combined with a pangolin axolotl character or creature design knew just what they were doing, and it works.

I love the gameplay loop, no it's not perfect, one after a while desires to be able to interact with more than steath combat and quick time food feeding events and puzzles, but that's just because I like a lot of narrative choices that have consequences like meet a stormtrooper named Jimm Bob, he lost some cargo, he wants to blame the rebels but his boss is gunning for his job, help him out he will help you out. Or you can betray him to an ISB guy who might (ehhhhhh) help you out.

Anyways the promise of Star wars outlaws of being an independent operator doing your own thing in open world Star wars is totally there. Not perfect but definitelysatisfies the sizzle they sold in the trailers.

They had to make several fixes to get there, and honestly I'm not expecting them to make any sequels because of the poor initial reception and the public sentiment around Ubisoft's other contemporary game release, AC: Shadows.

But you can bet I bought all the DLC and I will buy the sequel if any because, just like Star Wars Jedi Survivor, this game offers me the clearest glimpse into the Star Wars world I can get where I can do something to help save (or lighten the pockets of) a galaxy far far away.

Add in Nix and my grumpy older bro ND-5, and hey, I'm happy. Good job ubi.

Edit: several typo fixes and message clarifiers. PS: the title screen music is catchy and I always wait for it to finish loading as a result. That sitar beat or whatever it is that carries the overture is worthy of headlining a movie.
