The music was really well done, by the way. That wasn't just a cut 'n' paste job from old cues. Williams went back and weaved new music in with some of those old cues (re-arranged) and it sounded REALLY damned good.

That's also a good sign that there's probably already a different (better) Lucasfilm fanfare on the way, than the ones on the digital versions.

Is that a new Lucasfilm logo too?

Kylo Ren mask close-up. This thing is detailed as fuck.

So fucking good

The New Republic using stormtroopers and TIE Fighters? The Imperial Remnant now using X-Wings?

And I don't disagree with Finn. I'm just saying that that picture of him with the lightsaber isn't as revealing as it appears to be. We just know that at some point of the movie he'll have the Skywalker lightsaber, not how he came into it or how he plans to use it.
Is there some rule that only force users can use lightsaber? I mean Grievance used them and he sure as hell ain't a force user (for all I know, never bothered/cared enough). And while Jedi were a small percent of the population, it's not like there wasn't a bunch of them and therefore a bunch of lightsabers for people to find.

Pretty sure the trailer music was cut just for the trailer -- wasn't there a post about that a little while ago?

I know people say his Prequel trilogy stuff is good, but I really didn't like it. Hoping the new movies sound a bit more like the OG trilogy. From the trailer, sounds like it.

Looking around tvtropes apparently there are people that assume Finn might be related to some Zare guy from the Rebels show (never seen it). I wonder why? -__-

So can someone explain why the Rebels are still fighting the Empire, I believe they were severely beaten on RoTJ, even with the leadership removed the Rebels got the better of their armies. But it seems the battle continues?

I doubt it's the Empire as such. Most likely it broke apart during the 30 years since ROTJ after the Emperor and Vader's deaths, and this First Order is a remnant of it that has organised into a new threat under presumably the new Sith in the trailer. Hence the Stormtroopers, etc.

Grievous was half machine and trained to use them. A non-force user wouldn't be able to make use of one. They could swing it around, but without force abilities, its more of a liability. Basically a blaster would be a better option.

A blaster would be a better option for most Jedi too, given that they would have perfect future prediction auto-aim cheat codes and could snipe fools with their eyes closed at five clicks.

The only things Force users can do with lightsabers are:
1)Deflecting blaster bolts. It requires prescience.
2)Throwing the saber and guiding it flight, as that requires telekinesis.
And of course, trained Force users have superhuman endurance and speed due to the Force enhancing them.

Anyone could learn to use a lightsaber otherwise, we just don't see that happening.

It's a great trailer. The part where I think Leia is handed a lightsaber almost brought on a few tears. Something about SW brings you back to a better time or your first time witnessing something that isn't non-fiction.

One thing out of many that stuck out to me about the new Star Wars trailer is how beautiful Daisey Ridley is. Never noticed that before. I mean she looked pretty in the other trailer, but she is magnificent looking in the trailer.

But can you block and redirect blaster shots with another blaster? What they really need is a blaster that doubles as a lightsaber hilt.

Eh, I'd rather take my fire planet, ice planet, and cloud world separately.

It's easier to compartmentalize and makes some sense. We have polar ice caps because of a snowy comet and because we're not too close to the sun that it's melting, but a further planet (with water) would be largely snowy, and a planet that hadn't been hit by the comet wouldn't have snow. Similarly, a planet close to the sun is very fiery and a gas planet is just gas.

But a dessert planet doesn't have to be just dessert, especially if there are things living there. If something can live there (native flora and fauna), then other things can live there, so different biomes make sense.
