As an aside, the OT looks like hot garbage on mobile, both because of the slicing issues in the infographic and because of all my indenting. If only GAF had an "align" command. /shrug.

Ha ha. Was browsing the Starbound forums... anyone remember when they were given an Ouya kit? Apparently, they never planned to do an Ouya port in the first place:

We don't actually have an Ouya version planned, never really have. We were just given a dev kit. Right now the plan is for PS4 and Vita in the future, but we're definitely up for looking into other platforms too.

That's still the plan, as far as I know. You pick a Homeworld and supposedly you get a lot more customization tools like large-scale terraforming. We'll have to wait and see though.

I seem to remember reading that once you claim a homeworld, you can change stuff like the weather and enemies, so... if that's still their plan, in theory you could wipe out all life. Maybe not the trees. We'll see in a few days.

That was me I'm Matt from FyreUK - we make Minecraft Timelapses. But I know the Starbound guys pretty well - and they added me to the Skype call. I've had access to the game for some time now and its pretty awesome. Started playing in August and so excited for you guys to get your hands on it - I'm just a fan who was brought into the "inner circle" haha. I also told the "Fire Alarm" story with Molly and then started chatting about the upcoming Vita release with Tiy for a while... it's now 5am - had an awesome time on the stream too.

Only a couple of days guys - such a fun game!

A bunch of us were sort of hanging out on Steam chatting while listening and all of a sudden we heard a GAF shoutout (thanks for that, by the way). Just an interesting surprise.

Very cool you've had a chance to dink around in the game a bit, you can probably guess how eager most of us are to get a chance to try it too.

Just remember to temper those expectations a little, this is a Beta, after all. Even though the streams seem to be stable, it might end up being pretty rough, especially when you get past the first tiers (which I haven't seen any of the streamers do yet).

Just sayin', I'm as hyped as anybody (maybe even more so), but I'm expecting to play very little the first week, or at least make very little progress as characters/worlds become incompatible.

If I had to guess, it's that they're making frequent pushes (as expected) but the server software isn't always updated at the same time so there are compatability issues. It happened last night while the Wanderlust guys were streaming.

I was leaning towards it heavily, but I actually found a human sprite that kinda looks like me... that, and my wife is playing so I might make something based on her choice.

Maybe a Glitch for when I play alone and a human for when I don't.

Looking forward to playing this with my friends, had a lot of fun playing Terraria but it was a pain in the ass to get into a server together. I'm not a big pc gamer so downloading hamachi and all that was a bit of a chore. Think there will be an easier way to play with friends in Starbound?

A dead squirrel could probably write better networking code than Redigit, so I think getting a server going in Starbound will probably be much less of a headache, at least when it's released.
