Loving it so far, looks really good. Mengsk portrait looks really bad, like is a low poly model from the PS2 era, it looks so much worse that everyone else.
You're looking at the wrong page..
You should of gotten an update for the game, about 700 MB or something like that if you already have the original game installed. If not, that literally is the remaster on your app.
I'm not sure then how to fix that sadly, all I can say is either try reinstalling / contacting support.I got the update but it doesn't let me enable HD features and it still prompts me to buy
Mass Recall is pretty faithful to the original so a lot of the clunkyness is still in (mostly because of the maps) but it has lot of the gameplay improvements of SC2.for someone who is only interested on the campaign, and liked sc2, would i be better of with mass recall or remastered?
Er, is the "original campaign voiceover" option busted? Just tried to compare the first Terran and Protoss briefings with the option checked and unchecked, but the Terran AI and Judicator Aldaris sound exactly the same. Even the audio quality doesn't seem different in any way. What's the deal?
is the original game that difficult?Mass Recall is pretty faithful to the original so a lot of the clunkyness is still in (mostly because of the maps) but it has lot of the gameplay improvements of SC2.
Maybe you can try the anthology, since it's free, and if you find it too clunky you can continue on MR and see how it goes. It won't play like SC2, since they tried to replicate the original game as much as possible, but at least you have several difficulties available, unlike the original (and remastered too, I think), so it makes the game playable without cheats.
Your anthology save transfers to Remastered so if you want to upgrade you can, on MR you can choose the mission you want from the get go.
is the original game that difficult?
Yeah, it's kinda brutal if you're a casual RTS player and only care about the campaign, like me. I played it last year and at the end of the Terran chapter I had to start using cheats, because it'd require just too much practice to win some of those missions and since it's not 1998 I can't spend days on a level just to go through the campaign.is the original game that difficult?
Yes, I'm sure this is a silly question, but I should ask nonetheless. Does this support 21:9 resolutions? Thanks.
Really ? I don't remember it being that hard ? I had a tougher time with some sc2 missions on hard (like the last bonus mission of the Terran campaign was maddening).Yeah, it's kinda brutal if you're a casual RTS player and only care about the campaign, like me. Ahh! That's a shame. Thanks for the reply though. It's appreciated! It does not seem to, at least I can not find an option for it and you'll have black bars on left and right side.
are the characters portraits supposed to be choppy ?
I just now saw the preorder bonus thing for the first time.
Does that mean I now forever miss out on the preorder skins because I happened to not see anything about the game or its release date until now?
Because seriously fuck that shit. Not buying now.
I knew the game existed, but in those four months they failed to deliver any info to me on the preorder bonuses. I check gaming sites 5+ times a day including NeoGaf. So. I dunno where the blame lies, other than Blizzard for locking shit behind a preorder for an HD version of an old game.
I know, they're not the first company to do this, but with other games you can at least buy the preorder codes from eBay resellers. But with this your purchase is locked to your Blizzard account and there's no physical release, so yeah I'm fucked. Thanks Blizzard!
Some maps are difficult but if you're competent SC player, none should be impossible.
Mass Recall can be more difficult in practice, due to better AI.
conflicted here. i actually already bought it on a whim before asking that question. i disliked how the cutscenes and VA in general sounded on MS, so i bought it. welp. i did finish sc2 on normal without much problems, tbh.Yeah, it's kinda brutal if you're a casual RTS player and only care about the campaign, like me. They're supposed to match the original portraits so yes there will be some choppiness because of that.are the characters portraits supposed to be choppy ?
Yep to be faithful to the original.
Presumably for localisations only. And presumably the cleaned up audio applies to everyone, so no need for old sounds?
Well, I have no idea about SC2 since I played everything on normal, but SC1 has only one difficulty so it's either that or cheats if you're finding it too hard.Really ? I don't remember it being that hard ? I had a tougher time with some sc2 missions on hard (like the last bonus mission of the Terran campaign was maddening).
Which mission was hard on sc?
SC2 on normal is pretty easy, I never had to reload a save either. I think it was pretty balanced for what a "normal" difficulty should be.conflicted here. i actually already bought it on a whim before asking that question. i disliked how the cutscenes and VA in general sounded on MS, so i bought it. welp. i did finish sc2 on normal without much problems, tbh.
im guessing ill try for a refund, lolWell, I have no idea about SC2 since I played everything on normal, but SC1 has only one difficulty so it's either that or cheats if you're finding it too hard.
I don't remember specifically, but it was near the end of the first chapter and the missions started getting way too hard to be completed in a few tries, so I just gave up and cheated away. The garbage pathing wasn't helping either.

That's the main reason why I'm not buying Remastered, I don't care about the mp, and there's no way in hell I'm replaying the campaign without multiple difficulties.
I mean, even with cheats you can have fun playing it, it's not like you have to skip levels. Maybe you're a better player than me, I don't know. I, personally, found it way too hard to be played casually.im guessing ill try for a refund, lol
Now we need Command & Conquer remasters
no rush 10 mins plz
Could you show one of the images please???I really like the images they've added to help advance the story.
I'm not buying because they are locking content behind a preorder. It's more out of principle. I played OG StarCraft on and off for a decade, so this game is definitely for me. I'll just play the old version if I get nostalgic, so not much of a loss on my end.The cinematics were re-rendered? They look same res just in 16:9 D:
If you are interested in a game, get the info or preorder. If you are not buying just for not getting 3 skins then this game wasn't for you.
Thanks
Can someone tell me whether you can select more units in the Remastered version than just 8 or however much was the limit in StarCraft 1?
And are there any additional difficulty settings for the story campaign? Or nothing is changed?
It's nothing major, just a nice touch.Could you show one of the images please???
I can't play this game and won't be able to for a while.
The unit selection limit is unchanged from SC1 I believe.
I'm trying to play the campaign but I'm too busy laughing/watching the day9 stream. Tastosis+iNcontrol.. the unholy trinity.Through 9 missions and loving it. I'll be playing this for years.
On the difficulty, I find some later BW missions harder than anything in SC2 even on brutal. It's still doable but just found SC2 brutal quite a bit simpler to handle.
Ah, thanks. That's lame. What about Mass Recall or any other fan-made remakes of SC1? Do any of them update the gameplay?
So this is online-only then? Well that's some bullshit.
