I was one of those
Subbed for a month to play Starfield. Ended up being disapointed by it, never finished, and I'm not paying for GP anymore.
So I'm part of the 11M and I'm also one of those who subbed, despite not having the subscription anymore.
Looking from my pov, those are shit metrics. 'Cause I played it, but didnt enjoy it and didnt pay 70 dollars for it, so MS only got my subscription fee. I'm also not subbed anymore to GP, so it would be more meaningful to know how many of those subscribers are still using GP.
Its like Netflix: many people sub when a new Stranger Things seasons comes out. Does that mean that they will stay subscribed after watching it? Nah, so this metrics sucks
The game is actually pretty damn good, if you subbed for a month just to try it and didn't like it, then that's the beauty of Game Pass, you don't have to sink $70 and now have to find a way to sell the disc because the game wasn't to your liking, you instead have hundreds of other game to try while your subscription is active. I find it hard to believe you didn't find anything else worth keeping Game Pass for, but even if I choose to believe your story, it's merely an anecdote. If there's a game out there that deserves $70 or a subscription, it's Starfield, the amount of content is just mind boggling, I've sunk more hours into Starfield than all the games this generation combined and I'm not done with it.
