Stargate SG-1: Unleashed Announcement Trailer

I would be in you boat, but I snagged a Galaxy Tab 2 for $150 so I'm set. I don't care what it is, more Stargate!

This + cumshot + more ejaculate + bukkakke.

This is the best news I have heard this year. Oh my GOD! I am a huge SG fan and I am shaking with joy atm! Will write more after I acquire more info and start to think more rationally.

Nice, I´ll take what I can get. And it´s released next month apparently

IGN quote:
"The first episode is currently scheduled to launch in March of 2013 for tablets."

At first, I assumed from the picture that these were perhaps a glimpse of what we may get to see next gen. Then I watched the trailer and was even more elated. And then I read the article where it said that is not real time and is scheduled to tablets.

Now, I am disheartened. Hope the game is does okay.

Sorry I always wanted to do this
:(

And this! :D I look forward to it though I have to say I liked the initial episodes of the series more than the later ones :/

LoL, that's amazing.

While I'm glad there's something Stargate coming, still can't help feeling skeptical.

Can't they at least hire a well known dev for this? :/

cruuuud! tablets!

this leaves me with a few options

  1. get a tablet
  2. get an ouya and hope it runs on that
  3. install android on my computer and hope it runs
  4. hope the raspberry pi port of ice cream sandwich gets faster and try to run it on that
  5. cry in the corner

It's a shame that a property with the gaming potential of Stargate is being limited to tablets. However, I shouldn't be surprised. MGM has chased gaming trends for years with all of its attempted Stargate games, then pulled its support from the developer of the week when that trend grew stale. Shooters were all the rage last generation when Stargate SG-1: The Alliance was in the works. MMOs were exciting hot stuff when Stargate Worlds was announced. Now that mobile gaming is a big deal, why wouldn't MGM show up there to try and make some seemingly easy money? Stargate deserves more than the app store, but considering that it's been years since the last new adventure for the SG-1 team, I suppose I'll take what I can get.

Interested but skeptical, SG1 doesn't really lend itself to anything but a cutscene driven game if it is going to try to capture the essence of the show, which doesn't really appeal to me. Damned if they do and damned if they don't, I guess.

First I was like...

Then I was...

Flawless.

Edit: Tablets? Boo.

I was excited for about 10 seconds then i saw it was an IOS/Android game, fuck that. Its a crime a decent Stargate game was never released.

Looks pretty good. Really good 3D realizations of those actors (not that it will be anything like that in 3D). I think such a heavy investment in CG trailer bodes well for the final product? Walking Dead style is a good fit, just wish we didn't have to play it on tablet only as I want to play together with my girlfriend. Sharing tablet screens is non-ideal, being able to put it on the TV would be better.

I'd love a good Walking Dead-like SG1 game, but damn tablet-only is unfortunate. Still, that trailer is great and I need more Stargate, definitely keeping an eye on this.

Given the time period it seems to be in though, it'll have an unfortunate lack of Hammond of Texas. :(

I had to gif Teal'c :P

I wish there was more info and gameplay screens.

Can you guys imagine what a true SG game on next gen consoles possessing nearly identical visual fidelity with the game mechanics of Mass Effect (third person shooter with RPG elements) would be like?

This announcement like having the safety rope cut on a bungee jumper 2/3rd of the way down.

EDIT: I just realised that the end it was an Ori personnel (Orisi perhaps)?

I would punch a baby square in the face if I could make that happen

Stargate my old friend, it has been too long, hopefully this turns out well, Stargate deserved a great game.

It would be beautiful, the concept behind the show would work great as well along with having an already established universe, you could pretty much swap the Normandy for just using Stargates are you're pretty much half way there.

holy shit, YES. love sg1 and was very disappointed when alliance was canned. hope this is as good I hope it is. can't wait to fight my way through replicator hordes. :D

my only complaint is that sam doesn't look like sam. hope they sort that out.

This license is a little late to the party, no? Or perhaps they were waiting for smartphones to become ubiquitous so its full potential could be realised!

I have been re-watching the entire SG-1 series since November. I am now nearing the end of Season 7. God bless Stargate!

It will be a mobile game. Sam not looking like Sam may be the least of the problems given the graphics will be nowhere near that visual fidelity.

And they can focus on Ori with a bit of retcon (we already saw an Orisi in the trailer).

The season finale in Season 7 is one of my favorite episodes. I had goosebumps at one part.

DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN PAST SEASON 7:

When the cargo ship is in Antarctica and you see the gliders and F-302s clash, with the Prometheus in the background with Hammond at the helm. Goosebumps, man. Goosebumps.

I have always wondered on how Stargate Atlantis may be an even better proposition with Wraith problem never being truly solved.

That was truly one of the best season finales of the series.

They knew how to draw things to a conclusion before getting renewed.
Aside from Sam not looking like Amanda Tapping, and it being a mobile game, I'm interested.

That may be but we never saw it. I always felt Atlantis was a really worthy new entry into the SG franchise. Also, given the lack of proper ending, it would provide the game with that much more creative freedom.

Imagine a trilogy for SG:A where the final solution to wraith culling is the premise. What wouldn't I give to see a digital version Rodney Mckay (and he is Canadian) voiced by the living one. I also liked Joe Flanigan as Sheppard (Wrex.. Sheppard... Wrex) and rest of the protagonists. Imagine them rendered in close to fidelity (multiple orgasms, why doth thou blessed only women with thy self?).

Personally, a game like that would benefit greatly from being story driven and integrating a dialogue system like that of Alpha Protocol (timed) or ME with third person mechanics. In the hands of talented developers it could become a true masterpiece. Lest we forget, the franchise already possesses a strong brand recognition.
