Stargate SG-1: Unleashed Announcement Trailer

That may be but we never saw it. I always felt Atlantis was a really worthy new entry into the SG franchise. Also, given the lack of proper ending, it would provide the game with that much more creative freedom.

Imagine a trilogy for SG:A where the final solution to wraith culling is the premise. What wouldn't I give to see a digital version Rodney Mckay (and he is Canadian) voiced by the living one. I also liked Joe Flanigan as Sheppard (Wrex.. Sheppard... Wrex) and rest of the protagonists. Imagine them rendered in close to fidelity (multiple orgasms, why doth thou blessed only women with thy self?).

Personally, a game like that would benefit greatly from being story driven and integrating a dialogue system like that of Alpha Protocol (timed) or ME with third person mechanics. In the hands of talented developers it could become a true masterpiece. Lest we forget, the franchise already possesses a strong brand recognition.

I was talking more to your sg1 point about the finale, but I agree with you to the extent that I want an SG1/A game that is something like you mention though with greater squad control (like a rainbow6 or SWAT title)

SG1 ended well enough. As such I'm surprised to see them going with Orisi. And by her surrounding one can assume she is either guaould or has taken control of their fleet. In addition, teal'c's armour shows that the story will undergo retconning.

Ugh, I don't like these sort of mobile games. Wish this was on PC instead.

Yeah I have an iPhone, but not a tablet...

Would at least take a look if it made it on to PC. Still, I'm glad at least something is being done with the franchise. Hopefully it turns out decent (or better.) MGM really needs to have a better manager for the Stargate franchise though. It's a very strong brand (10! Seasons of SG-1, not to mention SGA and SGU), but it has been horribly squandered.

You guys can come play the Alliance at my place if this one is awful.

Yes, please.

How close to this fidelity would the next generation games get?

Imagine your game in cryengine 3 or this engine ig only real time. Glorious, just glorious.

Posted this shot the other day in case you missed it.

I hope that Unleashed is decent, it doesn't have to be amazing to have a positive impact on the future of SG.

I can't tell if that looks extremely terrible or is just awkward lighting.

I thought the Sam in this game did look like Amanda Tapping and IMDB seems to think she's voicing her character.

She's had the most successful post-Stargate career of any of the main cast so I wouldn't be surprised if she was the most expensive for this game.

It looks fine to me :P Other than the wonky shader on the floor and some jaggies since AA doesnt work well for me in XP on my limited machines.

It's just the way the light is hitting the floor, and the fact that the ceilings aren't all 90 degree rectangles made it look like the ha'tak/al'kesh was barfing iron textures from Thief for a second

Holy crap yes. I really hope they get the original cast to provide voices. Been too long since I've heard Christopher Judge say indeed.

Edit: not even a pc release? Cmon maaan

Looks like a PS2 game and I'm totally okay with that.

However, I thought it would be an adventure game, but don't see any adventure in the trailer, but awkward touch screen shooting instead.

That's not cool.

Can you guys imagine what a true SG game on next gen consoles possessing nearly identical visual fidelity with the game mechanics of Mass Effect (third person shooter with RPG elements) would be like?

This announcement like having the safety rope cut on a bungee jumper 2/3rd of the way down.

EDIT: I just realised that the end it was an Ori personnel (Orisi perhaps)?

I always think it's odd when people stop at "next gen consoles" but don't go all the way up to "high end PC."

I mean, assuming your goal is to make this game look as good as it possibly can. If your goal is simply to get this game on the platforms you happen to personally play on, then that's a different thing altogether.

I'm down for $5 to start with.

Edit: 8 episodes apparently:

Hey look April passed and the game still hasn't come out on Android. According to twitter we have to wait two more weeks to download it. You know if we still care once it finally comes out.

Is this thing any good?

It's okay. I'm about 1/2 way through episode 1 and it's decent. Controlling the camera sucks ass but the combat works and the voice over work isn't terrible.

Plotline has potential. New goa'uld, solar flairs, time travel and what not.

It plays way better on my Nexus 4 then my Galaxy Tab 2. Both performance(duh) and actual gameplay. I don't know it just works better on a smaller screen. I'll definitely buy every episode.

Played this on my Nexus 4 the other week, it is in my opinion complete rubbish. Did the tutorial level and uninstalled it straight away. I think a Stargate game on this platform would have worked more as an adventure or point and click game, third and first-person shooters do not work on touchscreen interfaces.

Somebody else mentioned in this thread about how good a next-gen FPS Stargate game would be, there was also a screenshot in the CryEngine 3 thread with a Stargate that looked absolutely delicious. Is it too much to ask for a good Stargate game?

How good would it be to have the entirety of Atlantis rendered as a level for a first-person shooter? Imagine running around as an SG team fighting off Wraith within the confines of the city, an open-world game so to speak that take place within the whole of Atlantis.

Is this canon or in continuity at all?

Yes. Not sure when exactly it takes place. The only info I have so far that gives an idea of when it takes place is Kinzie is still a Senator and Hammond is still in command of the SGC.

The plot is a canopic jar is being studied and the goa'uld gets out and into one of the scientists. this goa'uld ends up being Ra's daughter Sekhmet. She sees the future and notices that the tau'ri killed all the gods so she decided to travel through time to stop it from happening and of course you are trying to stop her.
