I can't believe they already have a new album out, only a year after the beautiful Heart. I picked it up yesterday, have given it about 3-4 solid listens now, and I'm totally in love with this album. The male/female duet dynamic is even stronger on this album and the words sound sweeter, the melodies more mature, and the song structures a little more free and open.

Why can't I find any reviews for this album online? I found it at HMV for $14.99 (Canadian) so I'm assuming most places should be carrying it.

But yes, it's beautiful. There are 1 or 2 songs that I'm not crazy about but when there are two handfuls of GREAT pop songs to counter those, you can't really complain much. Has anyone else picked this up or heard it yet?

I got Set Yourself on Fire a couple weeks back thanks to CDPlus shipping it to me extremely early. I loved it after the first listen, then disliked it, and I'm now enjoying it very much once more. I still think Funeral is the best album I've heard all year, but this is right behind it.

There are no reviews because this was not released outside of Canada. Most of the big indie review websites are based in the US and Set Yourself on Fire is not being released here until 2005. Which basically means they won't be getting free review copies until the new year.

Stars and Death Cab...you know, that's actually a pretty good combination. Although Stars and The Postal Service would be a much better fit.

Yeah, but Postal Service rarely tours (lucky enough to see them three times, however). They're doing a one-off show for the US Postal Service convention in D.C. as part of a deal to retain the name, but you'd have to work for them to get in.
