That has to be the earliest a Simpson season has launched in some time. I know you guys have expressed interest in the new show PRISON BREAK. What are people's thoughts of pairing AD on Mondays with what looks to be a reality show? I'm interested about the show that was perviously titled THE GATE it sounds interesting.

Holy crap! For at least the past 5 years, The Simpsons seasons have been starting in November (with the Halloween specials). Nice to see them finally start in September, like they used to do.

I don't like them putting a new show between The Simpsons and Family Guy. It might kill people's intrest to tune in after the new show is over. I'd rather have two simpson episodes before family guy, like it was before, then to have that happen.

Well, I guess this is goodbye for AD. If it couldn't do that great with the Simpsons as a lead-in, no damn way it's going to carry a weeknight by itself.

Fox hasn't started The Simpsons this early because it's tough to get a season off the ground when it is constantly being pre-empted by football and MLB playoffs and World Series games. Who cares if they are starting in September when you won't see more than 3-4 episodes before November anyway (and the ones you will see end up starting later)? Well technically nobody should care about Simpsons anyway, but this affects Family Guy and American Dad too :D

And additionally, it doesn't seem that Season 2 will be on DVD before Season 3 starts. Which further reduced the chances of hooking new viewers. It also means that I won't have seen most of Season 2 before season 3 starts -- so be it.

Still -- the ratings were quite bad, so I'm grateful for whatever we're getting at this point.

But does AD really have another FULL season? Or is it "we'll give you half(or less then half) a full order of episodes for the season and if you don't find an audience in that time we will pull you"?

I'm not sure with Alias, but I think that's also the case. Both last seasons of Alias and 24 started in Jan. 05 and were back-to-back with no reruns.

Kitchen Confidential isn't a reality show. It's a dramedy based on Anthony Bourdain's fantastic bio/novel. I have fairly high hopes for the show, as his experiences working as a chef are a freakin' goldmine of entertainment.

In other words, I expect Fox to can it after four episodes. ;)

I believe it's a full 22 episode season.

If it can somehow stagger to a fourth season, then it's in syndication territory and could prolong its stay. That's what I'm hoping for, however unlikely it is.

Fox still sucks for killing Firefly.

I can't believe Malcolm is still on. Ugh.

And uh,

Sunday, September 11
8:00-8:30 PM THE SIMPSONS (Season Premiere)
8:30-9:00 PM THE WAR AT HOME (Series Premiere)
9:00-9:30 PM FAMILY GUY (Season Premiere)
9:30-10:00 PM AMERICAN DAD (Season Premiere)

Anyone else find that a little weird? Heh.

but i thought Arrested Development averaged less than 7 million viewers on a prime time slot. If I was the one who decides what show stays on and whats gets cancel, i would've cancel arrested development a long time cuz of the lack of ratings. But im glad that this network is actually putting money for a low rating show for a few hardcore-dedicated fans that other networks won't bother to do.

The Kitchen Confidential book is great, but I'm not so sure about the series. We'll see. I also love his Cook's Tour on the Food Network. Bourdain is a funny guy. It's just too bad there hasn't been any new shows of it in forever, and it now seems to be delegated to only being shown in the middle of the night. :(
