Calling it a future failure now, when will big publishers understand that GaaS is almost a lottery, mostly because they're vapid, generic, uninspired games (although the initial concept of this one is fun and has past tie-ins). It creates no value for the company, if it (most likely) fails it actually dilutes it, instead of accepting to make decent or high margins on a truly polished game like...idk a Dino Crisis reboot?

In fact games with a strong brand/universe accompanied WITH an online mode have a higher-chance of maintaining some either decent or successful engagement and interests that strictly repetitive-online-gacha-whatever-fuck games as recent titles have shown, unless again, they win the lottery with a decently conceived, built and polished game.

Seriously, Dino Crisis 1 getting the RE 2/3 Remake treatment would be god tier. Doesn't even matter if some casual gamers might not know the IP, seeing Resident Evil gameplay but fighting dinosaurs would definitely make it sell well if done right.

Like, this new game looks decent, but the superior option was right in front of you, Capcom…..

As long as the game works its better than Babylons fall. I can't even play the game it kicks me out to title screen due to server issues I'm guessing. I'd be pissed if I paid money for a game that I can't even play. Fortunately I got this game free.

Anyway exoprimal looks like a fun game with friends. I'd give it a rental.
