[State of Play] Capcom annouces Exoprimal

Everyone's saying Dino Crisis.

Am I the only one who got Lost Planet 1 and 2 feels from this trailer?

...Is this the Lost Planet dev team?

Everyone is saying Dino Crisis exactly because it's not Dino Crisis. And they had the audacity to make one of the female characters look like Regina from DC.

But the entire first minute of the trailer, before the red head even showed up, had Lost Planet feels to it. I'm sorry DC fans but you read the room wrong.

What I meant was Capcom is wasting time and resources on a dinosaur hunting game that's not Dino Crisis, at this point, we'll never see a Dino Crisis game. I didn't think for a second this was a Dino Crisis game. Also, Dino Crisis.

It would be great to include a lot of cameos from somewhat related Capcom games turning it into a crazy crossover game: Dino Crisis, Lost Planet, Cyberbots, Mega Man X, Kikaioh, Powered Gear and Monster Hunter.

Is this Pragmata?
No, i's a different game

I still do not understand why they dont make a proper Dino Crisis game.

1) Dino theme horror game is extremely rare.
2) People are begging for it
3) Its a good franchise.
Because the series started with decent sales, the sequel didn't perform well enough and the third one bombed so hard that killed the IP, so they prefered to invest on more successful series instead plus in new IPs.

I mean, it makes sense why Dino Crisis fans would have this gut reaction, but... isn't it kind of nonsense to froth up for this just because it's Capcom and has dinosaurs, then the name isn't Dino Crisis and now people are shattered because it's a different thing?

Anybody watching the first 15 seconds of the trailer should have known that either A, this wasn't Dino Crisis as we know it, or B, this was going to be a bad Dino Crisis!

There's news forecasts by robot maids about "A dinosaur outbreak will soon occur," the character straps into a gigantic mech frame... it's daytime? What of any of that said to anybody that this was the next generation of survival "panic horror"?

Everything about this trailer showed cornball nonsense high-comedy play-with-a-buddy shoot-em-up action which had zero connection with Dino Crisis (except for there being dinos), and it was only when it popped up "Capcom Presents" that I was nervous, not because I wanted it to be Dino Crisis, but because I was worried it really was Dino Crisis. That's the wrong look, speed, play style, theme, setting, multiplayer approach, everything for a Dino Crisis (although after DC3, you never know what you're going to get if this franchise ever comes back,) and luckily, it's not Dino Crisis. It's its own thing. Capcom didn't need to thrown in the misjudged Dino Crisis fanservice, but otherwise, this game existing has no connection to Dino Crisis and no bearing on the future (or lack thereof) of that franchise. Best to judge it on its own and not think about other dino games...

Looks silly but fun, strangely I thought it was the only half-decent announcement from that absolutely dogshit State of Play

Phantasy Star Online with dinosaurs.

This would have been great in 2007. It's going to struggle in 2023. Japan is going to have a hellacious time cracking the GAAS code. Their multiplayer design is decades behind the west.

No way they didn't know this would be a BIG troll.
Capcom was like "Hey Dino Crisis fans, look!"

I started if laughing and then I noticed well into the trailer that I had a big grin on my face the entire time and now I'm at least interested.

The dinosaurs falling out of the orb like that just makes me lol each time I love it

Would you describe Monster Hunter as a GaaS? Multiplayer focus. New content rolled out over long periods of time. Tons of crossover content. Big expansions.

To save our mother Earth from any dinosaur attack
From vicious giant dinosaurs who have once again come back
We'll unleash all our forces, we won't cut them any slack
The Capcom Force deploys!

Our soldiers are prepared for any dinosaur threats
The navy launches ships, the air force send their jets
And nothing can withstand our fixed bayonets
The Capcom Force deploys!

Our forces have now dwindled and we pull back to regroup
The enemy has multiplied and formed a massive group
We better beat these dinos before we're all turned to soup
The Capcom Force deploys!

I trust Capcom will make it feel good to play so I'm interested. Not a big fan of the premise though. Looks like more of a Crisis than the actual Dino Crisis, at least lol

There goes any chance for a Dino Crisis with Resident Evil 2/3 Remakes gameplay and aesthetics..

We just got to hope that somehow there's a special ending in the game that announces Dino Crisis 4.

In the meantime, good luck playing this one.
