I mean, it makes sense why Dino Crisis fans would have this gut reaction, but... isn't it kind of nonsense to froth up for this just because it's Capcom and has dinosaurs, then the name isn't Dino Crisis and now people are shattered because it's a different thing?
Anybody watching the first 15 seconds of the trailer should have known that either A, this wasn't Dino Crisis as we know it, or B, this was going to be a
bad Dino Crisis!
There's news forecasts by robot maids about "A dinosaur outbreak will soon occur," the character straps into a gigantic mech frame... it's daytime? What of any of that said to anybody that this was the next generation of survival "panic horror"?
Everything about this trailer showed cornball nonsense high-comedy play-with-a-buddy shoot-em-up action which had zero connection with Dino Crisis (except for there being dinos), and it was only when it popped up "Capcom Presents" that I was nervous, not because I wanted it to be Dino Crisis, but because I was worried it really
was Dino Crisis. That's the wrong look, speed, play style, theme, setting, multiplayer approach, everything for a Dino Crisis (although after DC3, you never know what you're going to get if this franchise ever comes back,) and luckily, it's not Dino Crisis. It's its own thing. Capcom didn't need to thrown in the misjudged Dino Crisis fanservice, but otherwise, this game existing has no connection to Dino Crisis and no bearing on the future (or lack thereof) of that franchise. Best to judge it on its own and not think about other dino games...
