I used to be an active reader/lurker of this forum until it turned into a shit hole during the whole "Gamergate" thing. Where people were being banned in the hundreds for nothing more than having different opinions.
Someone recently told me that it was different now, so I came back and created an account. So far it's been great. Lots of diverse discussions and open-mindedness. I hope it continues to grow.

Always cool to hear good news about my go to internet community for news about my favorite hobby and video games.
I moved with resetera at the time of the meltdown but only lasted two weeks there before I came back here. After Comrade

made it clear he wanted to rebuild, I decided to participate in all of the graphite-rubble clearing and was pretty active. Interestingly, my post activity is probably inversely related to the general activity on the board... I guess my natural state of being is more to lurk like I did the first few years, and I've definitely noticed I feel less inclined to post lately which obviously proves that neoGAF is back.

Glad to see it doing so much better. I was pleasantly surprised when I rejoined a couple weeks back. I'd like to see more gaming OTs on the front page of gaming and less bitching about game industry things and console-warrish threads, but that's a common theme on all gaming forums in recent years. Too much bitching and complaining about gaming and not as much having fun chatting about the game(s) you're currently playing. I'll try and do my part (made one OT and posted in a few others since returning), but I've haven't been playing many new releases lately. That will change soon as I plan on starting up Bloodstained (that has a very active OT at least!) and have Mario Maker 2 preloaded.

GAF has a structure and systems in place to not let that happen again. If they come in with all the bullshit games they can play on other forums they'll quickly find it does not work here. Discussion and disagreement is allowed but just smashing the report button to silence someone with a different viewpoint does not work here.
