Damn, not the administration will lobby to remove google maps from the internet for national security reasons. "Terrorists will know where our stealth aircraft were, you saw 24!"

Eh, as out of date as Google's satellite imagery is most of the time, that very stealth bomber's probably already been decommissioned. That or already stolen by a terrorist for its awesome air-to-air combat abilities. :D

There's nothing exciting about seeing an SR-71 on display -- they have been decommissioned for many years. You can find them on display in several Air Force bases, although obviously Plant 42 has a sentimental attachment to them. :)

Actually the F-117 is a Fighter by designation :)
The aircraft in view through the original link is a B-2.

Yeah, that's true. I checked out the photos of Edwards AFB looking for "stuff," and it's not there. ;)

Granted, they're not exactly top-secret these days, but I found it interesting.
Actually, you would think that the BOTTOM of the aircraft has a far greater need for secrecy.

Which you can see if you scroll down and then over to your left.... on that map(an F-117). Scroll down from the bomber, cross the 2 taxiways and the runway, and the next taxi way start scrolling to your left... when you hit the intersection scroll down when the hangers comes in view you'll see it near the top across from the top hanger.

Yes, but we're talking about the aircraft on 24 which is an F-117 :)
Oops, my bad -- don't watch that show.

The "U" designation on the U-2 is even funnier, though -- it stands for "utility," and was picked to try to hide the aircraft's true purpose in the early days of the Cold War. Wow, THAT worked well...

haha nice.. too bad the sr-71s (and is that a u-2?) are just for display apparently.

Yeah SR-71's were retired YEARS ago... such an awesome plane though...

Wow these maps are outdated they built this huge office building next to my parents house about a year and a half ago and its not even there yet.
