I can't offer much help since I don't have an AMD card, but does your TV have a dedicated PC input? If so, you could use that (it'll likely be DVI or VGA/D-Sub).
I have my doubts that there are 250k active accounts without Metro 2033.

Yeah I got a VGA port, but wont that then limit my desktop to below 1080p?
I dont really wanna go fiddling with it too much as my wife uses it a lot, and changing cables and graphics would just be a hassle everytime.
Also VGA= no sound.

Possibly. VGA cables can handle 1080p just fine, but some TVs don't allow it over the dedicated PC input.

Did they change that from the original version? I have the non Steam port and it works perfectly.
I can't answer specifically but I had a similar issue when changing resolutions. Change the input mode on your TV and it should be fine; it's a settings issue on the TV is all.
But yeah, reading text across a room sucks.
Purchasing Trains vs Zombies 2 recently means I'm now obligated to purchase TrainSim 2013 and its plethora of DLC.
I joke, but I'm genuinely excited. :lol
Mostly looking forward to the older trains. The closest I've come to riding a train is greyhound.

Just tried this on my TV and it worked. Had to drop some settings to get 1080p in Saint's Row 3rd without lag but its good to know I can do this now. Days my wife leaves the house will be full of big picture mode now.
Not really. Sins of a solar Empire is probably the closest you'll get to a Space RTS. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the awesome space battles from Homeworld. Sins space battles are pretty static with ships just facing each other and firing.
Man, Homeworld was awesome. I'd kickstart a sequel if Relic did that.
I think there are probably 2-4 in-progress games, Kickstarter or otherwise, that seem to be aiming for that sort of game though. 0x10c and Star Citizen maaay fall somewhat in that category, eventually. It seems like space games are making a minor resurgence.
Not really, although Flotilla is kind of like a bite-sized tribute to Homeworld I suppose.
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. The developer tried to kickstart a sequel, but AFAIK it failed to get enough funding.
I remember that when it was still known as Imperium Galactica 3. Played the sh*t out of the demo. Some of the coolest space battles I have ever seen in a videogame.

I was under the impression that this released to horrid reviews and terribly broken gameplay. Of course I see the Steam score is 77/100. Anyone know it all the bugs were fixed?
I played it when it came out, don't recall running into all that many bugs. And I thought it was great then. I wouldn't quite compare it to Homeworld however, since it's just about combat and there's no building your fleet or whatever. God it was cool though. Amazing space battles.
The Indie Bundle is strong in this one, I feel.
Here's all the convincing you need: It's $3.
while it's not a bullet hell shmup game, it's still worth getting it

What's your viewing distance? Also is the issue related only to few games? Few things you could try is seeing if the game itself has a hires text setting. You could also try out with dvi-hdmi cable, my personal experience with hdmi cables with amd cards haven't exactly been fantastic, so you could try to plug dvi side to your card and hdmi to telly. Also some vs have hdmi port which is meant to use with diferent devices, f.ex. Some samungs have hdmi port with dvi text meant for dvi connection. Also you could try fiddling with the tvs scale options, sometimes you might need to use fitnto screen or such instead of 16:9.
