Is For Honor campaign hard to beat on Normal?
I read it's around 6 hours long, but I wonder if you need to put effort in it.

One thing that tends to bum me out is how there are games that are only on iOS/Android, like Monument Valley 1 and 2.
Granted they are short games but the dev could release them on Steam etc. for $10 and they'd do well over time.
I just can't be arsed to play on my iPad or iPhone tbh :S

I've been playing quite a bit of the rather excellent Kaiserreich mod for Hearts of Iron 4, which imagines a world where the German Empire won WW1. I'm currently playing as the Union of Britain, a Totalitarian Socialist power currently ruled by Oswald Mosley. I've got such wonderfully cultured people as Eric Blair and George Bernard Shaw in the government too. Quite what Eric Blair is going to think of this whole totalitarianism thing, who can say.

I'm loving how the mod creates a rather plausible world that has allowed for some very interesting wargaming/grand strategy aspects. You've got conflicts going on all over the globe, with warring powers in South America, Central America, Africa, India, China, the Pacific, a Second American Civil War, the Balkans, Italy and of course the Second 'Weltkrieg' between the Commune of France and the German Empire. That's currently kicked off in my game, which was rather unfortunate as I had managed to diplomatically isolate Ireland and had invaded, just as that started. So when I honoured my alliance with France, the Irish joined forces with German and suddenly my nice easy war got dragged into the big one. Grrh. Of course, the Commonwealth forces of Canada, Australia, along with the French exiles in Africa then took the opportunity to declare war, and suddenly it's a three way fight to the death.

Guys... that Lost Technology game is seriously cool.

Also, it's a steal at that price. If you have any interest in RTS games, definitely get it.

The reaction to No Mans Sky at launch and subsequent reaction after this patch is why so many games release in Early Access. You can get away with releasing unfinished games and have the time you need to add content and features while still making money from EA sales without so much of the ire from angry customers, so basically what it boils down to is that if PS4 would have had an EA program none of this potentially would have happened and also it cost $60 at launch and now will all this added content it cost about $10, the opposite of almost every other EA game. Video games business is crazy.

I think the main issue with No MAn's sky was the amount of stuff Sean said that was not present in the game, and still is not. You can't tell thousands of things that will be in the game and not have it. That is lying to the public, and even though the game has improved a lot since release, people will never forget his promises. He became a meme now

That's true, he should have kept his mouth shut regardless, he didn't help his situation at all.

Is it good yet?

If they keep adding stuff that doesn't make any sense it will never be good, with the 1.3 I've lost all hope
But ehi, hype for the low altitude flight!!!!!!! Something that should be there from the beginning become a source of pride in NMS

Gaming was a mistake

I would have been happier with further improvements to the "pokemon snap" aspects of the game: build even better procedural generation, add pokemons, introduce changes to improve quality of life of wannabe photographers, etc.

Instead, we get the same kind of stuff that other games already offer.

I really need to finish replaying uc2 and uc3
Sometime this year so i can finally check out this game

Just had it gifted to me a few days ago. It can get pretty intense.

It also prints money. Made about $10 selling crates already.

Edit: If you were talking about TLOU, that game is worth a playthrough.

Man, I just realized I haven't touched Dragon's Dogma in ages. I usually play the games I buy but with Nier and then P5 and Tits 3rd I literally forgot about it, I really need to get back to it when I'm done with these last 2.
Man, I bought P5 at launch and still have a long way to go, I'm not complaining since I love the game but I can't believe it's been 4 months. My life just isn't compatible with rpgs anymore.

Dragon Age 2 took a year to make, and felt incomplete. It didn't even have half as much story, content or anything as Origins. It a spinoff game, essentially.
Mankind Divided delivered one of the most beautifully designed hubs I have ever seen in a Deus Ex game, and feels great to play, and has way more content than it's first game, now that everything has been released.
As far as the plot is concerned, Human Revolution was really weak in that department, the second part was completely forgettable, especially in the Directors Cut, where you have to take a five hour diversion near the finale, with a completely different focus. Then on top the really weak final level with a completely hand-waived final choice.
I love HR, but saying that MD was so much worse in the narrative department is blatant revisionism. Yes, the game hints at more to come, and then ends, but it has some tangible conclusion as opposed to some voice over with some random footage.

Now this requires some explanation.

I was thinking in terms of 1. incomplete story and 2. built around a single "hub" city.

There's also a clear focus on rebuilding the game's combat, while neglecting a lot of other aspects of the game. (like, uh, the RPG aspects of the game)

Idk, I liked the comparison! Wish I had come up with it lol

Mankind Divided is a good (not great) game. But it's not a good Deus Ex game.

Human Revolution is a total mess, but in a sprawling, ambitious way. It also had, like, a plot (dumb as it ended up being). The Missing Link is fucking awesome, and the best designed part of the game.MD has middle-part syndrome (see: ME2, also) where the writers knew that it would get a sequel, so they ended up writing a game that literally had no plot where nothing happened.

Also Prague is super overrated as a hub world. COME AT ME.

I have an interest with this game, but it looks like a pseudo-RTS (Ogre Battle 64)-like game? It does not play like Brigandine? Or does it play like that Japanese game "lancer" something i forgot the title.

hey guys,

When you buy games from stores like bestbuy and amazon, do we get a physical disc, AND a steam code? Do you need a drive to install the game from the disc or just the steam code (the disc is just for collecting purposes then?) SO you can't trade in the game disc because you will need the code regardless, which is one time use?

Also, do they qualify for discounts like gamer club at BB and prime discounts?

Which then makes the actual lesson that this is why developers and creatives shouldn't talk to press. This is exactly why you hire a PR department and don't talk about anything in your game that isn't 100% confirmed.

Not American so I can't comment on BB and American Amazon prime discounts.

You do not need the disc. The code is enough. Enter it on Steam and download the game. I have a friend who uses the discs to install because he has a draconian data cap.

but you will still need the code correct? and once that is redeemed, the disc is useless right? The disc is just for people that has data cap issues?

Yes, you still need the code if you're installing from the disc because it connects to Steam unless it is one of those rare games that offers a Steam key and a DRM free copy on the disc which are mostly indie games.

It's probably a good thing I wasn't there day 1 for Life is Strange or else I would've been more emotionally destroyed than I am now

This thread title does not help me

;-;

I don't want to be that guy, but that art style is awful.

You don't like it? I think it looks great. Also, the music is pretty good.

Some guy in the Steam forums mentioned they're similar, but I think Brigandine is turn-based?

Lost Technology is an RTS. When combat starts, you can pause the action to issue commands, but once you unpause it, it's real-time combat.

For the easy battles, you can select all of your units and set them to AUTO (they'll automatically move towards the enemy) and ATTACK. You can also set them to AUTO and TECH, so units with special attacks will use them as soon as they are in range.

You can do all sorts of things. For instance, elves move faster in the woods and you might have trouble getting close, so you can order your archers to keep firing at a distance while you leave close range trops nearby, in case the eleves send some troops to kill your archers.

I just fought against the frogs and they're pretty weak, so I set my archers to attack from a distance and set my soldiers on Hold:

They eventually noticed what I was doing and charged, then things got more exciting:

It's lizards versus frogs!

It's not the greatest RTS ever, but it's pretty fun and the price is very good. If you happen to like the art style, it's a no-brainer.

Reminds me of Dragon Force in videos. Anyone remember Dragon Force (the game, not the music)?

I love Dragon Force. And yes, I think they're similar, though DF is better. I mean, LT is pretty good, but DF is awesome, right?
