Im playing The Saboteur and the game is really nice and fun. I don't like free roaming games, so I'm doing main missions only for now, but the title is entertaining and well done, honestly I'm preferring this above all games on EA Access.

Transport Fever is the only game I would be interested in. Thanks for the tip though!

The Saboteur is fantastic and it's still one of the best open world games out there. If only EA hadn't killed Pandemic and would have let them made a sequel instead.

Valve will no longer automatically fullfill key requests from the developers to combat game sales outside of Steam. https://t.co/Gp1TyivEeO

Wouldn't be surprised to see a thread

"Does anyone prefer 20 FPS with drops?"

well those old games where animations were tied to framerate literally go into slow motion when too many things are on screen when frame drops, so basically bullet time, makes the game easier and they didn't bother me lol

I guess loading times, maybe some hitching issues - but you can just disable texture streaming on xcom2 if you have it installed on a hdd. As long as its 7200rpm I don't see why the performance will be any different than on a ssd.

Only time I've noticed a performance upgrade on the ssd (barring loading times) is playing that stupid Batman game (think AK).

well i remember loading times being really really REALLY long

I can't imagine this is going to effect large key retailers, it's clearly targeting the low effort games that are sold for a few cents in vast numbers on Russian sites instead of 49c on steam.

If you played and loved Ice Hockey (NES) then I can reasonably assume that you would really like Super Blood Hockey. For people that haven't played Ice Hockey (NES), imagine a very simplified arcade-y Hockey game that features players who align with a Paper, Rocks, Scissors formula. It's fast, offers a decent amount of nuance to gameplay for people who wish to excel and, most importantly, it's extremely fun.

My only gripe is that it doesn't feature online multiplayer so I had to resort to shenanigans with streaming video to a friend and capturing his gamepad controls.

So currently that's the only caveat to my recommendation. If you require Online Multi, I understand how that can be a deal breaker. But if you're lucky to have the ability to play local multiplayer, it's easy to recommend.

Here's some video of me playing with a friend:

idk how humble bundle works for keys, does the developer have to supply the keys for that?

i always imagined humble took care of the keys, same with gmg

I always assumed that Humble made deals with devs/pubs and then the devs/pubs would distribute x amount of keys to Humble Bundle after a deal was arranged.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.

Galyonkin is getting the wrong end of the stick here. Key requests have always been manually fulfilled for precisely the reason Valve states. No policy has changed and digital retail isn't being walled off; there's just now an increased level of scrutiny applied to smaller requests so that developers who are believed to be selling keys for pennies on sites like DIG or otherwise frequently undercutting the store can't continue to do so.

The creator behind Thomas Was Alone and Volume just announced and released a new game: Subsurface Circular

Steam Page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/676820/Subsurface_Circular/

Twitter thread explaining the decision of releasing it without previous notice: https://twitter.com/mikeBithell/status/898225218728194048

The game seems interesting, and I want to see if this will work out for them. I loved the previous games!
that's real interesting

was volume any good? it sounded like such a big departure from thomas was alone that i didn't know if i was interested in it

ok, i've got to be honest, i'm baffled by how many indie devs think they can pull a Beyonce and just drop a new release unexpectedly.

We just seen it with the Introversion guys very recently, and that game flopped.
It doesn't work if your name doesn't have some cache and some half expectation behind it already. Valve could drop HL3 tomorrow unexpectedly and it'd work, I doubt this will.

Do you like Metal Gear Solid VR Missions? That's basically what Volume is. It's alright.

I really, really liked it, but, i mean, you have to be interested in what it is - a puzzle-stealth game. The story isn't the big focus here, and it isn't as good (although I still found it well written and interesting enough, doesn't hit the highs of Thomas was Alone).

But I enjoyed the vast majority of the levels and it's varied enough to last the entire campaign (100 levels, iirc? which i finished in like 9 hours with a ton of failures) without feeling repetitive. It goes pretty cheap on sales, I think it's worth a shot.

I found it kind of bland, personally. I finished the entire thing, but don't remember much about it aside from waiting for the game to get interesting. I do remember just kind of going through the motions to complete the levels, and never really feeling super challenged.

Been waiting for this one for awhile. Ice Hockey NES is one of my all time favourite games and this looks like its right up my alley.

Can never have enough arcade hockey games.
