But iirc this doesn't completely rule out that these games will be a daily/flash sale but the expected discount should be minimal at best.

There is a conflicting message in that.
There was a glitch and numerous people failed to get their gems back when the auction ended. Valve has slowly been going through people it's happened to and fixing it for them, I just got mine back minutes ago.
What changes?

Avadon 1 is great, I'd assume 2 is similar. It's a throwback-styled RPG, very classical in design. The writing and design of Avadon 1 are superb, and, again, Avadon 2 is probably more of that.
No opinion on the other stuff. Of it, Consortium catches my eye... but nothing else.

I heard that Steam doesn't send email notices for sales anymore, you have to check the developer portal for these things. If discounts are missing, this may be a reason.

There's a good chance it will get -25%, -33%, or even -40% off when inevitably featured. That's generally how it goes when there's no discount.

Seconding Luker's opinion on Avadon 1, though it should be noted the first game does have a pretty slow start and can be tricky to get into. I can confirm that the second game is much better in that regard, having spent 100 hours on it. Definitely a series more people should try to get into. Geneforge is still my favourite though.

Halfway is pretty ok. Aesthetically and mechanically its solid. It doesn't really new, though, and by the end all of your guys do roughly the same thing skill wise. Probably worth it if you've been looking at it
