Because it's easy to make and get money from double-dippers. The Deck2 will come eventually with a worthy spec upgrade.

That's a considerable upgrade. HDR OLED screen, 6nm APU, Wi-Fi 6E, better battery!?

More time to play
Steam Deck OLED has 30-50% more battery life. We fit a bigger battery into the case, and the OLED display draws less power. Add in an updated, more efficient AMD APU and you have way more time to play your favorites
Faster downloads
Steam Deck OLED comes with Wifi 6E, offering increased bandwidth and lower latency. This means faster downloads (up to 3 times faster!) and stable online play.
Lighter, cooler
Thanks to a bigger fan and updated thermals, Steam Deck OLED runs cooler. It weighs 30g, or ~5% lighter than the LCD model, due to the screen.

This is what I get for being an early adopter. Anyone wanna buy a 512gb model Steam Deck? 😂

Introducing the Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED, a different colorway for the 1TB Steam Deck OLED. Quantities are highly limited, and are only available in the United States and Canada.

Damn you, Valve!

It's a lot better in every regard except power then by the looks...

But it's not powerful enough to justify spending a lot of money on it in 2024. This isn't for me. I was already ready for a power upgrade 6 months after getting my deck.

Says available usa and canada, but then not available in your country......

And how much is it?

Need to sell my washed out launch Deck, that screen has got to be one of the worst things Valve could have picked on a handheld device. Must have been cheep rejects from a better line of product.

Let's have all the same peeps from the other thread complaining about Jason Schrier reporting about GTA VI being revealed next month come here to this thread and bring the exact same complaint they had there.

Yeah, it's not the fastest for new games, but still, there's so many games that aren't AAA Alan Wake 2 level games that run great on the device, dozens a month easy. So just depends on how much you really need to play those AAA ones that don't on it right away. Like you suggest, time should solve that with newer hardware in a real revision.

The 1TB limited edition one looks pretty sweet. I've been tempted by these for a long time. May pull the trigger if you can easily get one.

Same, love the Steam Deck but good god it hurts my soul a little bit every time I see the washed out "blacks", especially next to the Switch OLED. Wish I waited for this one.

No, cause the Valve Index also has the worst displays of any device you own, which was true even when it was new 5 years ago. Valve's MO is buying the cheapest and worst Chinese displays they can get their hands on.
