For you.
Makes me annoyed - I want a handheld PC for Steam games amongst other services, but I don't want to lose out on extremely unplayable mouse / keyboard oriented games when using the GPD solutions for it.

Make a Steam Controller integrated to it and I would be in

Meanwhile SmachZ looks questionable as hell, but has the controls sort of down...

URGH....

I mean, this thing already has Xinput, so you can already use Steam Controller configuration with it.
I wouldn't bet on Smach Z ever coming out. Not with the specs they want to have, anyway.

Made my list for the holiday sale in two months. I'm looking forward to spending way more than I planned and will hate myself for it.

Also, Destiny 2 preload still isn't live. What the fuck?

Destiny 2 isn't out? Feels like it came out year ago for consoles.

Useless. I want reasonable mouse input - ie velocity based input. That's going to need a trackpad / trackball or something. It is not remotely reasonable to try and play Civ IV with Xinput, enjoy shooters in a way I feel comfortable. Shit I play Starcraft 2 with the SC and enjoy it on a TV. Xinput is useless there. I'm a niche but that's what I'm after since a lot of what I play is oriented that way

Which is exactly my point. The whole thing is questionable. Switch would get my money if Nintendo weren't such a dumpster fire with digital, pricing, perpetuity and longevity of service - obviously I lose out on all my games this way and the wealth of PC stuff I have, when I specifically want a PC type device for that reason, but Switch is more specifically for Nintendo games. What I need is a PC thing that benefits for years of great games. I don't need it to be a powerhouse

Eventually someone will make the thing I'm after, I hope.

Divinity OS 2 is such a good game. But it's HUGE. Almost 70 hours in now and we just reached the third act.

I am playing with my buddy over the weekend. We are also in Act 3 after 70 hours, but had some issues with quest bugs (not doing some quests in the right order) and probably have 25 quests total that we didnt finish in Act 1 and 2 (the bugged quests shouldnt be more than 5, the other quests we couldnt figure out how to progress or solve, the Questsystem is a little rudimentary and not helpfull. (Really, in one quest there is just a text with "we found blood, we should investigate this" I don't even know where we found the blood.

All in all, it is a great game with great combat and mediocre questsystem. I will probably start a new game solo in english and play with a walkthrough after we finish our coop game.

what'd you think about a trackpad attachment that could be put on the side of the Win?

The watch dogs weapon crate missions end with an open warehouse and ten dudes that I perfectly took down. Then you have about 30 seconds and a set of about eight care shows up full of dudes and then a wave of super heavies flanked by heavies. Uh yeah, explode mode going on after the first set.

Does GPD make their case schematics available?
You are right that a custom solution would be very slick.

I'm playing solo and I can't possibly imagine how anyone can co-ordinate schedules between people to play this co-op. Unless you are living with the other person/people it seems impossible to me. There is SO MUCH to do.

I enjoyed it, but wish it didn't rely so heavily on jump scares (oh, and the "you're at a dead end, but turn around and the room/hallway has completely changed from where you came from" gimmick -- nifty the first couple times, less so the 12th or whatever it was).

Fair enough. The mansion changing constantly is one of my favourite things about the game and I thought the jump scares were reasonable in frequency.

Going to try DreadOut next.

Is it still worth to play DOS1, or does the sequel make the first one unnecessary?

They are separate entities in the lore. Two takes places thousands of years after one, so there is no real narrative link other than some fun call backs and references to the past. So don't feel compelled for that reason.

DOS1 is still a fun game to play, but DOS2 has much stronger writing (so far). The side quest stuff is still weird and fun though so if you're into that then you can play either game and have a good time. They revamped the skills and attributes in DOS2, but both systems seem very exploitable albeit in different ways.

I'd give the nod to DOS2 since the writing and main quest story are much stronger, but DOS1 has an appeal as well in the silly sidequests and humor. DOS1 does feel like it is trying much harder to be funny than DOS2.

They are different enough to make each stand out. I would recommend to start with OS1 actually. You'll have a better time right away in OS2, less time figuring out the basics, more time messing with stuff.

Would love to jump into but because of school, work and some releases of some other games I won’t be able to give it my full attention until the beginning of next year. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s sounds fantastic.

Because you have the beta installed and it's updating that.

how do you know what I have installed? is that some sort of Australian hacking trick?

leave my porn alone.

Its probably why Bungie chose BNet over Steam. You can preload a game on to someone's computer even if they don't own it. Dangle a carrot over their face everyday when they log in to play Hearthstone.

You can't do such sneaky shit on Steam.

It is better than Risen 3, however if you hated Risen 3 you will probably not like Elex. It is still a Pirhana Bytes game through and through. Combat is by far the worst part again, however the rest of the game is lovely (to me) so it is well worth the day one purchase for me.
The main thing that bothered me with Risen 3, and made me stop partway through was how little I cared about the larger world. Once you played through one of the faction and joined them, you had to do quests on the other islands. And it just felt like they copied the same quests and ideas, with slightly different packaging. And I really couldn't give a fuck about the larger threat, the Titans or whatever. It just doesn't work when everything important happens of screen or in boring cutscenes.
I did hear that Elex seems to do quests better, though, with actual choices to make.

I'd say that depends on your time to play games / games you want to play ratio.

For me, for a game as good as D:OS, I'd always argue in favour of playing it first. (Because the sequel is improved in many areas, which might seem lackng if you later figure out that you want to play D:OS1 as well after having played the second.

It's not like there is a story necessity for it though.

Depends on comfort, but if it worked, yeah I could get into it. SmachZ is too wide as a one piece thing. Switch has the right idea with detachable controllers / big screen that can still be portable. I don't really need to play wirelessly as you can with that, but I do want to have as reduced size as possible when traveling. GPD clamshell is nice, though I'd happily go a bit larger than it is. GPD 2 appears to have improved build quality, which is a major plus to me.

There's a Prey thread over in gaming side that has my interest piqued. I wouldn't be surprised if it we're on sale during the Steam Halloween sale period.

I've heard enough good things about Prey from people whose opinion I value that I need to check it out when I can. I'm 120+ hours into Divinity: Original Sin 2 and still in the second act though, so it might be a while.

I got it for 20$ on day one, and it's now 15$ CDKeys. Doubt it'll go much lower than that on sale.
It's a good game and definitely worth checking it out, it has free trial on Steam if you're short on cash and want to give it a spin.

prey is an alright game, it has a lot of cool individual things about it but i don't think it lives up to its potential and like most games nowadays, it's bogged down by systems fluff

i really like its music tho
